JUNIOR - SENIOR BANQUET 1950 Excitement and thrills were in the air on the warm but rainy Friday evening of May 6, IQSO, when the Juniors were hosts to the Seniors at the Banquet held at Garden Center in Alexandria. We were thrilled on entering a romantically-lighted, flower-fragranced room, and it almost seemed as though we were entering a Dutch fairyland. The delicate odor of tulips and daffodils filled the air, and the huge glassed wall picturing the Dutch boy and girl in their flower garden only enhanced the Dutch atmosphere. When all the faculty, guests, hosts and hostesses had arrived, we were seated at beautifully decorated tables with blue and yellow nut cups of glass in the shape of a wooden shoe. Then, too, along side each plate was a little leather- like booklet, equipped with a pencil, containing the menu, program, and of course a place for autographs, which kept everyone busy signing. The menu consisted of a real Dutch treat--Fruit Sauppe Qfruit cocktailj, Roast Joung Kalakcoenfroast young turkeyy, Gestampde Airdappelen Qmashed potatoesj, Niewe Eertjis in Baterfnew peas in buttery, Combinatia salada Qxtossed saladj, Kombomers Bard fdressingj, Hette Balle Qhot rollsj, Bater Qbutterj, Kack and Room Ice Qcake and ice creamy and Kaf- fe fcoffeej.
