On May 3rd the chorus receiv-- ed the wondert'ul opportunity tor the first time ot' going to Minneapolis to participate in the State Music Con- test there. Here it received a B rating, and this was very good considering the competitors that it had there. Year by year the chorus has become better and bet- ter. If it continues this way it will surely prove that it is a worthwhile organization and one that this coni- niunity can have pride in. W The Starbuck High School Band, under the direction ot' lVlr. R. S. Forde, numbers 47 students f1'om the high school and grades. The school has bought new instru- nients this year including an oboe, a trombone, a bas- soon, and a Bllb Sousaphone. We now have a fine instrumentalion setup for our band, It has participat- ed in the annual Christmas and Spring Concerts as well as playing I'or a t'ew extra events. We also had a l'ine pep band for the basketball games last winter.
