1939 CHIPPEWAN Pagc5 Class Will Continued Boyd Opheim wills his flowery language while speak- ing to young ladies to Orville Dahlseng. Marie Engebretson leaves her knowledge of Rudi- ments of Music to next year's class. Pearl Eidberg wills her curly hair and dreamy eyes to Betty Evenson. Adeline Gaarder leaves Adeline Hanson her knack for correcting papers. Norman Hagen, in humble spirit, leaves to any girl, his name, plus M. R. S. CMrs.J degree. Mildred Ronnie wills her love for the masculine type to Clarice Foss. Claire Tolstad wills her booth in the Rex Cafe to Agnes Benson. Blanche Lingen leaves her might and muscle to Wallace Hoium. Pearl Erickson wills her secretive chatter to Naomi Foss. Lester Lorvig leaves his interests in Cyrus to Ralph Skinner. Manda Aaberg leaves her ability to -imitate a can- ary's singing to Vernon Larson. Gladys Smedstad leaves her good marks and studi- ou: ness to Howard Hagen. Viola Sanvik wills her sense of good citizenship to Kermit Hansen. Marian Landaas wills her nonsensical humor to Ar- len Kleven. Archie Otteson leaves his unforgetable speaking ability to Arden Brenden. Alfield Forbord leaves her place as Salutatorian to I.eRoy Olson. Martha Larson wills her gracefullness to Paul Sam- uelson. Orvald Forbord wills his latest dance steps to Doris Myking. John Anderson leaves his Plymouth car to Sidney Aslagson and Walter Nelson so they can see their out- of-town girl friends more often. Paul Johnshoy leaves his great knowledge of Latin to Ardis Skoglund. We sincerely hope she makes use of it. Lester Sanvik wills his great preparation for exams tm LeRoy Cleven. Clarice Gorder leaves her technique at playing the drums to anyone who can do equally as well. Elvin Branch wills his cheerful disposition to Lilian Stadsvold. Helen Thompson leaves her seriousness and apti- tude for studying to Arthur Berg. Esther Berg will be happy to leave her place as a Senior in order to become a member of the alumnae. We appoint our Superintendent executor of this will and revoke all former wills. We hereby certify that we wish all to be appreciated. Signed-Recording Lawyers Orvald Forbord Norman Hagen Class Prophecy A few highlights on our class on this fine September morn in 1959. I am reading the screaming headlines of the New Prairie Broadcaster and here in bold type I read that Ralph Norland has almost reached his goal. He is a scientist in research, developing a cow that will live on snow so he can make ranching flourish in the Antarctic. On returning from his non-stop flight from pole to pole, it has just been reported that Boyd Opheim just made a forced fahemlj landing in Sioux Falls and now he has to catch up on lost time. Henrik Aune and John Anderson are jointly farm- ing in Iowa, developing the latest farming ideas and are heading the Department of Interior's Farm Re- search Division. In the Movie Corner I see that Pearl Eidberg and Mildred Ronnie have just accepted leading roles in the Follies of 1960. On the Social Page we learn some other interesting facts, namely, that Clarice Gorder is still drumming away ns hard as ever, but of course not on a drum, and that Lester Sanvik and Gladys Smedstad are co- skippers of a trim schooner and are now sailing the South Seas on a pleasure jaunt. They've got sea- blood in them. No wonder they were so anxious to have a certain long class motto back in the good old days of '39. A colorful ad in the inside section reads as follows: M. T. Stoen and Co. Dude Ranch, Orvald Forbord, Chief Instructor. Archie Otteson, who is a First Lieutenant at West Point, is on a vacation shooting mountain lions in Montana. Lester Lorvig and Norman Hagen are in big business. They are operating the Godustum Brush and Mop Co. and they also have one of the largest office forces in the country at their direction. They knew where to get good stenographers, namely from our class of '39. Martha, Adeline, Blanche, Esther, Julia, Marie, and Manda top off their staff. Some inside facts on the nation's entertainment re- veal that Viola Sanvik and Helen Thompson are play- ing with Bennie Goodman at the Orpheum tonight. Marion Landaas, Claire Tolstad, Pearl Erickson, and Alfield Forbord are providing the laughs that accomp- any the jokes on Elvin Branch's new Jello program. I suppose I'll find myself in the comic strip but enough of this newsy news. I think I'll turn to the editorial page. -Paul J ohnshoy.
