Robin finds safe retreat in Sherwood forest and with his Merry Men boldly rights the wrongs of all who appeal to him for justice. Comes Ben Booster, a promoter in advance of his time, offering to organize the band as a corporation. Ben and the Merry Men propose that Robin wed a rich heiress to provide working capital. Robin secretly loves Lady Marian Fitz Walter, who seeks protection from the Sheriff, who has the sanction of Prince John to marry her. The clever Ben arranges for an immediate wedding of Robin to Lady Lotta. The Sheriff arrives with the King's Guards, and although many make good their escape, Robin, Marian, Friar Tuck, Scarlet, and Little John are taken prison- ers. In the hall of Westminster Palace, the prisoners are condemned to be hanged. To make their plight more unbearable, the Sheriff asks Prince John to perform the marriage between Lady Marian and himself. Robin is desperate. At this moment, to the amazement of all, King Richard arrives from the Crusades. King Rich- ard, on learning the ksituation, decrees that Robin shall marry Marian, pairs off the others, and renders full justice to the Sherid and Prince John. X Take My Advice The play centers around a small town news- paper, the Eureka News, which, together with other businesses of Eureka, is being gradually taken over by John Wargrim, ruler of Eureka and political boss of the News. Bob Mannion, the editor, and his sister Virgy, are helpless to oppose him because of a debt they owe to War- grim. Mrs. Nelson-Dodd, a would-be social power in Eureka and president of the Uplift Society, who is out looking for her fourth hus- band, has a hard time landing Jud Fenton, a town character who has scruples against work- ing. Jimmy Sampson, whose business is working up towns, provides a great deal of excitement with his human alarm-clock methods and his helplessness as the victim of Virgy Mannion's witty comebacks. Marcia Wargrim, daughter of John Wargrim, and would-be bride of Bob Man- nion, becomes very angry when Peggy Acton, a visitor in Eureka, pays off the editor's debt thereby making him subject to her wishes ac- cording to the terms of a contract he made with Wargrim. The climax is reached when Miss Acton orders Bob Mannion to carry out his or- iginal intention of marrying her after he decid- ed not to, when Peggy exposes Wargrim's treachery by disclosing that she is the daughter of his dead brother. lv CAST OF CHARACTERS Bob Mannion-Editor of the Eureka News .......,,....... QQ, JUN1oR-sEN1oR BANQUET gg In and imaginary two ring circus tent, be- neath a ceiling of green and silver balloons, wov- en crepe paper and serpentine, the annual J unior-Senior banquet was held on May 18, 1934. A three course dinner was served by the Minne- waska Ladies Aid. The color scheme carried out was green and silver in the dining room ring, green and silver balloons forming the ceiling, the outer outline being formed with snow fence covered with lilacs. The five tables were decorated in green and silver with miniature circus rings as center- pieces. The orchestra pit and stage in the sec- ond ring, was made up of lattice Work, with a crepe paper ceiling. Joseph Belgum, president of the Junior Class, as barker, welcomed the guests. Glen Berge responded in behalf of the Seniors, Miss Margret Larson spoke on Clowns , and Dorvan Skoglund gave his interpretation of the Inner Ring . Supt. W. The barker next introduced Clarice Sanvik, who gave her impressions of the Unknown Marvel . Iver Holen brought the toast program to a close with some clever remarks on Sideshows . A short program was held in the second ring, Amy Nelson contributing a humorous read- ing, and the Siamese twins rendering two vocal selections. The male quartet did a bit of har- monizing, after which the prophecy of the class of '34 was read and dramatized by a group of Juniors. Miss Lilian Charlesworth favored the group with a vocal solo, Sylvia Koland read the class will, and Naomi Gorder concluded the program with a pleasing piano solo. Music during the program was furnished by the alumni orchestra. We attribute the success of our banquet to Miss Olson, our class advisor, and to the Minne- waska Ladies Aid, who sojwillingly catered to us W N ff f! lf N I X, fr 'ffff 17 7 -,J fffffi ff' hfflv Va!
