Offering a new and separate pro- gram for those with a special interest in engineering was the nationally sponsored Junior Engineering Techni- cal Society. The JETS sponsored an engineering aptitude test and a geo- logy field trip in the fall. Science Club, no longer affiliated with the FSA, rewrote their constitu- tion and participated in a lecture and field trip program in addition to con- structing a prize-winning Homecom- ing float. Providing organizations for those being trained in technical skills was VICA and the S-SHS Electronics Club. SCIENCE CLUB AND JETS-Front: Row: W. Har- din, S. Belyeu, D. Twidwell, K. This is the adiust- ment Seniors '70 had to make in a few short weeks. It was up to them to get clubs and activities started with all the efficiency that is expected of a senior class. With the motto Youth is the hope of the world, seniors led in sports and organizations throughout the year. Among the 229 in the class, were honor students and outstanding ath- letes who received a variety of scholar- ships. Schools depend on their upper-class to set an example for those who must shoulder the responsibility next year. The Senior class of 1970 did this for Star-Spencer.
