As I sat there, havingachieved my life-long ambition of becoming a nurse, in this quiet moment I began to wonder, ''Had my classmates ac- hieved their ambition, too.'' I must have gone into a dreamy daze, for at this time I saw my classmates in their places in life. I saw Ruby Jea n McBride in the limelight of the leading role in the Sauline Players. Jimmy McLeod must. like the Air Force because he has become a career man, and with four stripes! I could dimly visualize Brenda Brooks as secretary to New York's greatest lawyer, Oscar Hancock. As lremembered the: streets of Star, I.recognized’an old barber shop with a new name, Glenn Deaton's Specialty Barber Shop .- and right next door is Martha Allen's Beauty Salon. Then my vision turned to New York where I saw Elmo Allen in his swanky office as a broker on the New York Stock Exchange. Wayne McBride is living in the high social world of a mechanic. A vision of Wayne Brown appeared asthe propietorof Bennett's Grocery. June Carol Nall has now taken over Mrs. Shamburger's place as sponsor of the Senior Class of Star High School. Now I could see Bobby Needham walking the streets of Star selling Fuller Brushes. Charles King seems to have changed his quiet ways for he is now an auctioneer for Parsons' Realty Company of which Larry Parsons is president. Phillips Funeral Home now has anewcapable assistant, Jerry Stuart, who originated their motto, ''Yours before death; ours after. ' Not only does Evelyn Reynolds have animportant job as a seamstress but a family‘as well to keep her on her toes. Denzil Jordan has now finished college and is our own basketball coach in Star High School. Billy Wrightis now one The Life of Riley on his small farm just outside of Star. I could see vivgeue Davis, who has” now joined the WACS, working in her small office as private secretary of General Li. R. Odom. Richard McBride has now found happiness with his family and his job as the efficiency expert at Russell's Hosiery Mill. I was awakened from my daze by the buzzer of a patient. As I went down the long hall to the patient's room, I had a feeling of happiness in my heart as I realized that my classmates had, as I had, achieved their ambitions. ARTICLE 1V June Carol Nall leaves her silly giggles and screams to Linda Williams and Frances Dorsett. To Tim Kern goes Billy Wright's formula for making 'moonshine ’. Elmo Allen wishes to leave his chief marshal ribbon to Barbara Asbill. To James Maness and Elmer Needham goes Jerry Stuart's ability to worry the teach- ers to their graves. Riley Fields and Ruby Shirlen are the lucky receivers of Evelyn Reynolds and Denzil Jordan's title as most athletic. Jenny Lee Russell leaves her wads of chewing gum to Carlene Mabe and Claudine Davis. To Wanda Cooper and Jerry Don Miller go Charles King's quiet ways. Martha Allen leaves her ability as a cheerleader to Sue Caudill, hoping she will keep up the good work. Jean McBride and Jimmy McLeod's title of cutest goes to Faye Nichols and Vance Spivey. Wayne Brown and L. R. Odom leave their wit and ability to tell jokes to Don King. To Johnny Allen goes Oscar Hancock's ability to bluff. Brenda Brooks vacates her position as class baby, leaving it for Roby Dunn to fill. Larry Parsons leaves his flirty ways for Jane Allen and Sue Davis to carry on, if they think they can. eel'O Larry Jordan goes Virginia Davis' position as Mrs. Shamburger's private secre- tary. Glenn Deaton's friendly ways go to Ralph Beane and Wilma Odom. Wayne McBride leaves.everything he owns to Ann Holt McBride.
