. Ww. C. JOHNSON President When we entered high school as freshmen, it was into a scene of bewil- dering excitement that we came. But after we became adjusted to the changing classes and ringing bells, we realized that we had only three more years, so we settled downto enjoy ourselves. Mrs. Shamburger was our home room teacher. We enjoyed chicken stews and weiner roasts at Phillips's Cabin. Our freshman basketball team was undefeated. As Sophomores, Miss Mittie Belle Boggan was our leader. Inthisclass year we had several memorable experiences. A hay ride was held which everyone enjoyed. I think the class will long remember the wild ride throughthe rain, inthe wee hours of the morning, when we came back from Aberdeen Lake. Our first thought when we became Juniors was to make money for the xs FRANCES KING Secretary-Treasurer O7.at Of The Clas W. H. NEEDHAM Vice President Of 1950 Junior-Senior Banquet, whichwe gave in style. Mr. Paul Shepherd was our able director for this year. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening when we attended the fair in) Greensboro. We produced ouz Junior Play, “My Cousin from Texas.” As the need for jewelry was felt, class rings were ordered., Our scholastic minded members were initiated into the Beta Club. Our Senior year promises to be one of muchactivity. However, at this time, history is still mostly in the making. We have produced our Senior Play, “The Scarecrow Creeps.” We attended the State Fair at Raleigh. We are to havea Christmas;-party at the home of our sponsor, Mrs. Shamburger. Paramount on our minds, however, is the production of Oak Leaves '50.
