JUNE ALLEN GEORGE KIVETT Werpre cident President In °45 ‘twas forty-two, Each one a worthy member, That made their way to Star High School That day in bright September. A noted class we must have been; For teachers we had plenty, For classroom sponsors not just one Twas seven less than twenty. In 46 the Byrds had flown; : The Lesters took their places. | : Not all the Freshmen had returned, Just thirty-five old faces. LOUISE ALLEN Our homeroom teacher and our coach We knew as Mr. Mickey. With Donald, Hal, and George to lead We thought ourselves right spicky. ‘As Juniors we were STARS of note. Oun numbers, though, had dwindled. Though few in number-great in deed, Our fame we then had kindled. In basketball our boys were tops; Their playing won us fame. No better school in sportsmanship Competed in this game. Both boys and girls were crowned as sports; This year we made our name. In baseball and in softball, too, We won a little fame. — A banquet for the Senior Class We gave with great delight. To make of this a real success We worked with all our might. 3 Members of many clubs were we, Vocational and social. Student Council membership And Glee Club were our special. 10 Sect.-Treas. As mighty Seniors we met The fall of °48. With eager minds and energy We rushed to meet our fate. In last year’s clubs we shone again, This year as leaders bold. With all of this activity Our standing, still, we hold. As dramatists we tried our luck, Our Senior play presented; Our first attempt, a fair success The audience assented. The Oak Leaves is our first concern, Its pages long we scan. To make of this a last success We unite to a man. The year rolls round the clock again. June carries us away. We say farewell to Star High School In memories of our day. Our hearts are sad this farewell time, Though there be unshed tears We've loved each hour spent with you In these past happy years.
