CLASS HISTORY OF 46 On the morning of Sepember 3, 1934, our Star City Class Plane of 46 started on its long trip that was to last twelve long years. Our pilot was Julia Phillips and our passengers were Dean Allen, Beverly Dickson, Marilyn Durbin, George Eddington, Arnold Foust, Ronald Foust tour twinsl, Letitia Harris, Darl Hettinger, Neil Hoesel, Martha Johnson, Worley Jones, Corabelle Kistler, Delight Moon, Virginia Murphy, Harold Ruff, Margery Ruff, Edith Shelhart, Walter Smith, and Lucile Thomas. But before too long, one of our passengers, Worley Jones got sick and had to parachute out near the city's best doctor's office. We then landed at Moyer's Station and let off Edith Shelhart. and picked up two new passengers, Lawrence Rude and Olive Hauser. We were near the end of the first run in our trip but everyone was eager to continue the trip, tsilly peoplej. Before too much time had elapsed, we were ready to start on the second part of our journey with Maude Buck and Alma Wirick as our pilots. This was 1935, and though we waited as long as we were allowed to, Olive Hauser and Walter Smith fail- ed to reach the airport in time. But as we checked over the passenger list we found that our new passengers Included: Dorothy Baldwin, Donald Hedger, Bernard Nies, Betty Wagner, and Dale Sadill-a. At our next stop, George Eddington Hlld Lucille Thomas got off the plane, but just as the plane was ready to start, Bernard Nies woke up and realized that he was to get off here so we lost another passenger. At our next stop we had a very delayed vacation. The vacation passed before we knew it and we were ready for our trip to con- tinue. This was in the fall of 1936, and we found that we had the same pilots as we had the previous trip thow they stood us two years we'll never knowl. There was an addition to our list of passengers and they included: John Epler, Beverly Korner, Doris Begthel and Hazel Frazier. As we studied the list we realized that we had lost several passengers. Those who did not board the plane were: Victor Day, Arnold Foust. Ronald Foust tour twinsl, and Betty Warner. After we had traveled quite a ways, Beverly and Kenneth Colby, Wayne Davis, Darl Hettinger, and Doris Begthel decided to get off at the next stop. lt was quite an exciting trip, this run, but we made it. The day was quite dark and dreary on this day in 1937 but we decided to start on the fourth run, no niatter what the weather. Our pilots were Maude Buck and Clara Noel and the passengers on this trip were a little tired but the addition of a few new passengers added interest. The new passengers were: Gertrude Bucks, Wanda Bon- nell, Viola Scott, and a new pair of twins, Betty and Bob Kelly. But as we left we saw Dorothy Baldwin, Beverly Korner, and Virginia Murphy running out on the airfield but they were too late so we lost those passengers on this trip. We landed at Moyer's Station and let Gertrude Bucks, Lois Ewing, Donald Hedger, Corabelle Kistler off. By this tiine we were pretty tired of traveling so we set the plane down for a needed l'9St. lt was our fifth run and we were still getting new passengers. Yes, this was 1938. Our pilot was Mrs. D9IlSb0l'Il and we were ready to take off. The new passengers were: Bob Berkshire, Miles Hettinger, Duane Rassmussen, Bobby Russell, Frank Herald, and Monna Lou Vanscoyk. Looking around we failed to see VVanda Bonnell and Lawrence Rude on this part of our journey. We were getting to the halfway mark on our journey and there wasn't anyone who wanted to get off so we traveled right along and then set the plane down and took our vaaction between runs, but it wasn't long before it would be time to leave again. All aboard!!! we are now ready for our sixth trip and our halfway mark will be reached. Mrs. Densborn is our pilot for this part of our trip. To our surprise, Beverly Dickson and Harold Ruff failed to make it to the airport in time to get aboard the plane, but we got several new passengers to make up for the loss of those two. The new passengers were: Imogene Scott, Wanda Foreman, and another pair of twins. Dan and Joe Royer. But they didn't stay on the plane long for the twins. Frank Hearld, Duane Rassrnussen, and Monna Lou Vanscoyk got off at the next stop, which
