CLASS l-IISTQRY On September 4. 1933, a group of happy girls and boys gathered at the Star City School to begin their first year of school. Invluded in that group were Lois Abbott, Billie Anders, Robert Berkshire, Marilyn Capper, Jean Ann Compton, Mar- jorie Day, Louise Ellington, Loretta Grant, Peggy Harris, Mae Hendry, llarl Het- tinger, Marguerite Hilarrd, Ja'nres Krrebel, .lane Melrochlin, Dick Newman, Margery Ruff, Rosenrary Ruff, llan Sayers, John Skillen, Betty VVarner, Roy VVarner, Joafn Weaver, Patty White, Ruth Ann VVhite, Ralph Vangundy, Robert Durbin, Marguerite Hilarrd didrr't remain with us very long. Ralph Vangundy moved to Thornlrope. llelen Clouse, Vtlilrna Waehnitz, Clara Smith, Donald Hedger entered our Qlagg, Our' team-her this year was Miss .lulia Phillips. Then we started rnovlng on, as now we enter our second year ol' school. New ones are: Hazel Colby, Billie Fox, Mary Smith, Velma Smith, and Robert VVart'ield. tiene Barker entered our t-lass during the year. Jane McLochlin, Clara Smith, Margery Ruff, John Skillen, Robert llnrbin, Marilyn Capper, and Iiarl Hettinger failed to show up this year. Our teachers this year were Alma Wirick and Icle Lebo. On to the third grade, with llonald lledger, Mary Smith, Roy and Betty Warner missing. Additions to the rlass were llale Burns, Betty Lou Hazlett, Argyle Gpllillfll, Mat-e Jr, Gellinger. Harold Linrings, Joe Roberts, and Bessie Zeek. Bessie drdn't remain very Long. We had Alma Wirick and Mrs. Buck as teachers. Orrward and upward we are moving, This year we find new in our vlass lion- ald tlarrett, Alberta Baldwin, Bobbie Russell, and Melvin Ewing. Those who left us were tiene Barker, Ruth Ann Vllhite, Billie Fox, and Harold Limlngs. Still nroving, though it seems mighty slow, we now enter the filth grade, with Graf-e llerrsborn as our teaeher. Our r-lass 1-onsisted of Billy Anders, Bobby Berk- shire, Ivale Burns, Marilyn tlapper, .lean Ann flornpton, Dick Conn, Margie Day, Mel- vin Ewing, llill Frazier. ir In the eighth grade Veneda Galbreath was the only new one, Betty Whipple did not appear at school this year at all. Fred Hettinger left but re-entered again in a short time. This was our first year in the new building. New teachers this year were Mr. Replogle taking Miss Peigh's place and Hazel Snyder took Metzger's place. However, Mrs. Fitzpatrick eompleted the year for Mr. Heplogle and Zelma Ross for Miss Snyder. Now, we are really starting to roll. We have just stepped on first base and are getting along rapidly. New faces from Thornhope were shining and those from Fair- view glowed, Uur full crew included the old gang Gene Barker, Anna Marie Bauman, Willie Bonnell, Marilyn Capper, Jean Ann Compton, Margie Day, Veneda Galbreath, Mace Gellinger, Argyle Gerlach, Maxie Jones, Jim Kuebel, llirli Newman, Joe Roberts, Rose Mary Ruff, Dan Sayers, Virginia Sutton, Wilma Vtfar-knitz, Patty White, New ones from Fairview were llale Burgess. Margaret Hayden, Elsie Houchins, Bertha Williams, and from 'Fhornhope we had Donald Fisher, Merlin Funk, Dale Russell, Charles Seward, Barbara 'I'ho'mpson, Ralph Vangundy, and Ralph Zieders. During the year Fern Rans, Eileen Leslie, and Nicholas Grostefon entered our class. Nit-k left. a short time later. Dale Burns, Fred Hettinger, and Dirk Coon failed to show up this year. New tear-hers were Veral Clausen, taking Mrs. Booinershinefs plat-eg Mrs. Fisher, taking Miss Fitzpatrick's place. Phillip Hyman became c-oar-h in Reed's place, Moving on to second base, we shall look around at who is present this year. New members of our 4-lass this year were Mary Lou Vtlidup, and Devon Neher. llevon left during the first month of school, and Mace Gellinger withdrew during the set-ond month. Virginia Sutton, Bertha Williams, and Fern Hans also left the latter part oi the year. Elsie Houchins didn't appear this year. New tear-hers this year were Eva Schwartz, taking Miss Clausen's placeg Chase Bussell taking Snyder's place: and Mrs. Mitt-hell was added to the fat-ulty. We are now on the home stretch and are we ever feeling happy about it. VVe got ott at full speed with the whole gang pulling as hard as they could.
