4 V fi The 'high'sehool band played for several of the basketball games this year, including the in- vitational and county tourneys. It also led the Hallowe'en parade through town, playing several numbers at the drug store corner and another in the gym after the parade. The orchestra played for theJunior and Senior plays and for the Commencement. The 9-lO Girlls Glee Club sang for the Baccalaureate and, combined with the ll-l2 Mixed Chorus, sane Christmas carols 'XJ for the Christmas program. The ll-12 Mixed Chorus sang between acts of the Senior Play. The Pulaski-Cass County Band led marches for the political rallies held atlogansport last fall. They will enter 90 players in the band contests this spring. The Contests this year are: District Solo and Ensemble at Hobart, March 29 State Solo and Ensemble at Laporte, April 5 District Band Contest at Hebron, April l9 State Band Contest at Hartford City, May 3 National Contest at Flint, Michigan, Nay l4fl5-l6 Those winning a lst Divisionrating atthe District Contest will go to the State Contest at Hartford City. Those taking part in the Distrietiolo Contest are! Delight Moen, Carol Thompson, John E. Case, Billy Wagner, Bernice Moon, Virginia Capper, Estle Rouch, Jane Hoesel, and Darrell Righter. In the Ensemble Contest are: Brass Quartetg Jane Heesol, Billy Wagner, John E. Case, and Voneda Galbreath, Woodwind Triog Barbara Thompson,Cnarles F. Byfield and Leaine Byfield. Clarinet Quartetg Darrell Righter, Virginia Caoper, Thelma Royor, and Geneva Daily. Mixed Clarinet Quartetg Betty Jo Moyer, Bernice Moon, Genova Daily,and Anne Kistler CRoyal Center Last year two people from the Star City High School went to the National Contest at Battle Creek, Michigan.
