To my right, at the piano, sat Ruth Buck as- sisted at times by Beulah Brown, Next to the piano sat 5 violin players, none other than Mildredhhrd, Ronnie Jensen Cdeceasedl, and Maxine Hamilton. For a while the orchestra kept pace by adding numerous violin players-Russell Schultz, Flora Fae Davis, Mildred Bonnell, Dick Jensen, Mary Wentz, Elizabeth Ann Huff, Stanley Moyer, and Jane Hamil- ton. Gradually the lure of uniforms in the band, playing for basket-ball games and the band enter- ing contest events began to make its mark on the .L orchostra and students hegrn to be more interested in other hen-orchestral instruments. The orchestras of today have very little at- traction for most people unless they play swing or are of the symphonic type.
