' ykwiif M Vrffia NM' VP W f Dedlkaflbn our friend and superintendent Mr Robert R Corneer We, the class of 1955, respectfully dedicate our yearbook t 14 dmfhflvf affbn :ai a,,,e :apr Robert Corneer To The Students Soon another school year will be over For many of us it will mean the end of a particular phase of life and the beginning of a new one Such changes such beginnings and endings are e part of the eternal rhythm of life itself However, no matter how far a person travels, he never actually says goodbye to any place he has lived for the experiences he has known and the friendships he has formed remain, if only in his memory For me the last four years have been filled with rich and rewarding experiences I hope that as students you have found school both enjoyable and worthwhile Although I have en joyed my work here immensely and am reluctant to leave, I feel sure that with the election of Hr Hart as super intendent for next year the school will receive the high type of leadership it deserves I do not like the finality of formal goodbyes Anyway most of us will probably meet again in the years ahead My sincere wish is that there be not only friendship at the cross the place we meet again Sincerely Apfff? Gi I ' ' Q , , 3, 4 H I - F ' : ,2. . : , , 44: : Z , 2, 3, 4:3 g 3, 4 Tr I , , 3,41 ' ' 1 , 3, 4 : . 4 I 4 2 : 1 dass H1 tory As the fifteen seniors of the graduating class of 1955 step for ward to receive their diplomas l cant help thinking back to tie day almo t four years ago when this same class first entered Baker Rural High and note some of the changes As freshm n eighteen of us began our high school careers on September 3 1951 First of all, we chose our class offic rs We elect ed Larry Brown president Bill Karn vice president Barbara Ray naid se retary and JoAnn Barker treasurer Student Council rep resentatives were Keith Sheets and Pat Pl'lIpot We chos Miss Mar jorme Schurr as our class sponsor Our other teachers were Robert Corneer, superintendent Lyle Blggerstaff principal Miss Ama C ress George Barlow, Miss Bonnie Smith and Leonard Peters The the sophomores and our class party at the end of the year Lawrence Mueller left shortly after school began and CaroIy1 Hclste transf r red to our class from Idaho un Marci' Fifteen of us were on hand to begin our sophomore year on September 18 1952 K ith Sheets Barbara Griffith and Gwendolyn Twidwell did not return Joy e Founds left school in the middle of the year and Gwendolyn returned during the second semester W began the new year by initiating the freshmen They, in turn gave us a return party Another special event was our class party which was leld in the local park at the end of the year Our sophomore class officers were Byron Barner presidemt Pat Philpot vice president JoAnn Barker, secretary, and Bull Karn treasurer We elected Larry Brown and Carolyn Holste as our Stu dent Council representatives Our sponsor was Stan Hart who with his wife, Pat joined the faculty this year Miss Essex and Mr Lindly were the other new teachers Miss Smith Miss Schurr and Mr Peters did not return On August 31 1953 fourteen juniors found their way back to the old familiar halls Mary Nuzum was the only classmate vho did not return Conrey Keyes joined the class in December Our class rings arrived on Friday the 13th of November with no ill effects owing to the day One of our bigger events of the year O . . . y . - . i S I . , e , ' .
