Sensor Class Hlstory Twent one brave and mighty 'Freebies' entered Baker Rural High School September , 1950 after initiation they dldn't feel so blg, but still brave Their flrst thrill was glvlng the Sophomoree a return party The class officers were: President Frank Lanka, Vloe President Lew ellyn Phllpot, Secretary Treasurer Robert Iwoldt, Student Council arwllla Jivlden and Dlok Chapman Their sponsor was George Barlow The staff was: Superintendent Kurtis Bowden, Principal lurle G dow, Miss Ama Caress, Ire Orville Indra, Mrs Murle S dow, George Barlow, and Coach Leonard Peters. John Kramer left the class during the flret semester Twenty resbd Sophomores came back September 4, 1951 Jeanne Goyen was a new classmate, but left in two weeks Frank Lanka attended school ln Curtls that ear Geraldine Guthard left at the end of the first semester lllma lain a so left the class during the second semester The olass officers were: President Denzel Rlelsen, Vice President Councll Robert B oldt and Barbara Hare They elected George Barlow agaln for thelr olass sponsor as mighty Sophomoree, they had the pleasure of lntlatlng the Freshmen. Th dressed them as funny paper characters, and gave them a party that nlg t The Freshmen, ln turn gave the Scphomores a party. The faculty had four new teachers this year Superintendent Robert Corneer, Principal Lyle Blggerstaff, Marjorie Schurr and Bonnie Smlth. ala Caress, George Barlow, and Leonard Peters returned. The rest of the year went b fast, too fast ln fact. High school days that far had proved very enjoyab e. n September 8, 1952 sixteen Juniors answered the rollcall The class was grieved over the passlng of lervin lslte during the summer. Sarbara ware had moved to Gothenburg, but Prank Lanka rejoined them along with Paul andre, a new student for Baker Rural High at the end of the fret semester Paul andre left the class. They chose their class officers: President Robert lwoldt, Vlce Pres tdent Paul andre, Secretary Lewellyn Phllpot, Treasurer Gayle Yell, Student Council Donzel llelsen and Irma Starr. again, they chose George Barlow for their class sponsor There were a few changes ln the staff this year Coach and Irs Stan lei Hart and Klee Essex replaced Leonard Peters, Bonnie Smith and larJorle Sc urr Later Hrs william Redenbo replaced Miss lssex Irs Redenbo left so they got acquainted with another new teacher, Charles Lindley, who stay ed the remainder of the school year. During this year there was one high light after another. They chose their class rlngs and received them the 15th of December They gave the Seniors a banquet on aprl 21 tn the basement of the Catholic Church Their class play 'Going Places' was a big success and lots of fun to present .
