Norman Peterson is still succeeding at his ambition that of being a bachelor ln addition to this remarkable feat he has gained fame as an explorer He has dis covered three new planets and was the first man to settle on the moon He IS spon soring a law which will prohibit women from lxvmg on the moon Another dear friend of mine stopped 1n to see me after her performance last evening Joanne Lindquist IS now a famous ballet dancer Her troupe left today for Europe where they will spend the summer touring the continent On past trips a broad her name has become romantically linked with the Prlnce of Wales It will be interestlng to note whether anything defmite comes of this trip I saw another classmate here in New York recently I met Charles Eklof editor of the Ladies Home Companion the magazine that women put their trust at a busmess luncheon It seems that Charles chose a career which always Chuck And I almost forgot Lloyd Lewis Who would have thought that Lloyd would grow another two feet after high school He is now known as Louie the tall painter He also is in New York to paint a series of sketches portraying l1fe in the 1960 s Mr Lewis has also been voted the most eligible bachelor by the women of two con tinents Daniel Anderson 15 now of all things a school teacher He wrote to me last year and Sald that he liked teaching at Stanton except for the fact that some of the students were hard to d1sc1pl1ne especially his own children Maybe they take after dad In a letter I received from Max Kirkeberg last week he told me what he had been doing s1nce he left Stanton ln 1951 In February of 1952 Max made a trip to Hawan There he met a very charming Hawaiian girl whom he married He and his wife now have a tumbling act on TV Next winter they are planning a South American cruise on their yacht I must leave now to catch my tram back to New York where I give weekly concerts in Carnegie Hall as a concert pianist I am also kept very busy at my office as the first woman president of the Busmess Men s Association Myrna Falk i I in -- ' . . . fitted him -- that of advising women. Class Prophecy The other day as I came across my old Sen1or class plcture I thought of what each person had accomphshed m the t1me s1nce 1951 Fxrst off there was Gene Larson Who would have thought that he would be come the bobby soxers dream man of 1961 He has taken the Academy Award for dramat1cs the past f1ve years Hxs lavxsh partxes where he practxcally throws money away and h1s occasxonal bursts of temperament have endeared h1m m the hearts of many And, oh yes Clayty and Gene left Iowa together after a short perlod ln the Army to fmd adventure and success m Calxfornxa Whxle Gene became a movxe star Clayton estabhshed hlmself as one of Amer1ca s foremost lawyers He 15 marrxed to a former Stanton glrl and they res1de at thexr fash1onable Beverly H1115 On my last buslness tr1p to Cahfornra I spent the week end at the1r lovely home On my return from Calxforma I stopped off a few days 1n my old home town of Stanton and spent a very enjoyable afternoon wxth my dear fr1end Donna Vanderholm Anderson She was very busy tramxng her e1ght famous pet l1ons on one of her farms south of Stanton Her housework also keeps her stepplng And, Merhn now famous and wealthy IS qu1te happy at h1s occupatxon that of xnventor Hxs great mterest has been 1n the push button fleld H15 own home 15 so mechamzed that all Merl1n has to do IS eat sleep and push buttons crop and wxth h1s w1fe and chxldren moved to southern Rodesma Afrlca where he estabhshed the prosperous Mumbo Jumbo peanut plantatmn Letters from h1m 1nd1cate that the warm chmate agrees wxth h1m Of my classmates thms boy has perhaps chmbed the h1ghest on the ladder of success After Sweden s e1ghth revolutxon and all the Swedlsh nob1l1ty had been k11led It was found that the last rema1n1ng he1r to the Swedxsh throne 11ved mn Amerxca When consulted by Swechsh off1c1als he hesxtated at f1rst to g1ve up h1s Amer1can c1t1zensh1p, but dec1ded to become a Swedash klng So 1n 1959 he and h1s farruly moved to Sweden By now you know that thxs must be none other than Norman Sch1eld. It 15 strange somet1mes how fate works' Although we notlced back 1n h1gh school that Charleen was the athletxc type but we never realmzed that she would be come a lady wrestler She IS currently b1lled as Whxrlwxnd Charhe best bantam wexght lady wrestler 1n the rmg She has won 98 out of 101 bouts She clalms her success to wonderful exerclse A career env1ed by most men was taken up by John Hogberg John has be come quxte wealthy as a des1gner and manufacturer of women s bathmg su1ts He also acts as Judge at many of the beauty contests around the country He knows a good tlnng when he sees lt 10 ' . . . , i . . . . , John Carlson, early in the year 1955, became disgusted with his Iowa corn . . g . . . -
