SOPHOMORES Add Sparkle to School Last year's freshmen returned to school with eagerness and confidence, knowing that they had met one year successfully and could conquer their sophomore year also. As sophomores, the class participated more actively in school life. At the beginning of the year, they presented the Thanksgiving Chapel, with the Rev. Eldon Fry as guest speaker. Over two- thirds of the boys went out for athletics, including football, cross-country, basketball, and track; they helped to win many games and meets. Many of the sophomores participated in music activities. Their outstanding achievement was that the girls' double quintet received a I rating at State Music Contest. They added extra sparkle to the school during pep rallies and assemblies. One of the major highlights of the sophomore year was the ordering of their class rings at the end of the school year. At the close of school, the sophomores were already looking forward to being upperclassmen next year. j Shirley Adams Debra Barefoot Eliseo Arellano Kristie Brewer Jill Carrithers Class Officers: STANDING: Tony Cheatham, Treasurer; Connie Nicholas, Stuco Representative.
