Non-Teaching Personnel Brightening the halls of Stanton County High School the cooks and janitors worked diligently to prepare the nutricious meals and keep the school house sparkling clean. The cooks, Mrs. Ashida and Mrs. Baxter, were aided by Mrs. Taylor in their daily preparations for the rush of hungry students. Mrs. Taylor also helped Mr. Lauppe in his never- ending work around the school. Besides their janitor work, they both helped immensely by doing special jobs for the students and by cheering them with their friendly smiles. The bus drivers were Mr. Stanley, Mr. Garrett, Mr. Morris, Rev. Houston, Mr. Parks, Mr. Downs, and Mr. Ogletree. They all did their share by safely transporting the many students to and from school each day. Mrs. Marjorie Baxter and Mrs. Amy Ashida Mr. Bill Lauppe and Mrs. Edna Taylor. BACK ROW: Mr. Norman Stanley, Mr. Herbert Garrett, Mr. Clarence Morris, Jr. , and Reverend Gene Houston. FRONT ROW: Mr. Bob Ogletree, Mr. Bob Downs, and Mr. Gary Parks. 12

Coach Morris found excitement in teaching the students of the Driver's Education Class the funda- mentals of driving an automobile. Besides their driving, the students learned the parts of the auto- mobile. Industrial arts classes may be for some a place to relax and relieve pressures by doing constructive work with their hands, but others use these classes in preparation for a future vocation. Mr. Garrett was kept busy teaching die industrial arts classes. His mechanical drawing provides a background for many types of drafting and his woodworking classes had a practical value. He also taught crafts. Mr. Garrett was head football coach. Miss Remperl found her Home Economics classes frantically following everything from pattern guides to recipes. Fundamentals of nutrition, clothing, home management, interior decoration, and social living provided the • lome Economics girls with a sound background for a career, family, or both. Miss Rempel was also the Pep Club co-sponsor. Don't forget to check the oil, Mr. Morris tells his Driver's education students. 11
