State Cross Country Champions Trojan’s First State Championship The Johnson high school cross country team took the State Class B Championship at Emporia during the fall of 1962. This was the first team in the history of Johnson high school that a first place trophy in state competition has been won. Meets they have entered this year include an invitational at Fort Hays College, Class B regionals at the col- lege, and Class B state meet at Em- poria, November 3, 1962. Congratulations to a fine group of boys. D. Neely, Coach Langley, Coach Morris. FRONT ROW: Steve Seyb, Marlon Neely, THE 1963 TROJAN Stanton County Community High School Johnson, Kansas In Memory of Ronald Howard our classmate who died on July 14, 1959 Hope 'Tis better to hope, though clouds hang low, And keep the eyes uplifted, For the sweet blue sky will soon peep through, When the ominous clouds are lifted. There was never a night without a day Or an evening without a morning, And the darkest hour, as the proverb goes, Is the hour before the dawning. f Author Unknown Administration BOARD OF EDUCATION: Ruth Fields; Hazel York, County Supt.; Iris Seyb; LaVere Walker, Treasurer; Morris Cartwright; Homer Richard; Ed Barber, Clerk.
