Senior Class Prophecy We are going to take a little ride in a time machine to see what is going to happen to this class ten years from now. We travel into a large Metropolis called Johnson. As we walk down the main street of the town, we see a large Wilson Department Store . When we read the name it seems to ring a bell. It seems to us that we once went to school with a boy by the name of Wilson. Edward, I believe it was. We entered the store and asked to see the owner of the store. We were directed to a large office on the fourth floor of the building. After talking to Edward for a while we asked if he knew the where-abouts of any of our other classmates. He said that just the other day he had seen Jerry Jones and that he lived in Los Angeles but was traveling to Cleveland to join the Browns who are traveling to the moon to play the first football game up there. We learned that Dave Harmon and Shirley now live in Florida where Dave is em- ployed in Cape Canaveral. His main job, is to make excuses for our missile failures. Larry Martin we find is riding horses for Guy Rorick. We don’t know whether he is working on his second million or not, but as least he seems to be keeping Sally and his hungry brood happy. As we journeyed on in our time machine we stopped in Colby and much to our sur- prise who do you suppose we found? Come to think about it, I do recall something about Bill Seyb receiving letters from a Colby girl while he was in high school, but who would have thought that it would have gone any farther than that. But, well, here he is. We asked him what he was doing up here and he said that he ran a spider farm. He milked the spiders and sold the venom as a cure for halitosis. 36 This made us very happy because we could remember this boy from high school and -Oh well, the world was treating them well and that is sufficient. On our way back to Johnson we stopped in Garden City to see if Richard Scott happened to be there. He seemed to like this town pretty well a few years back. As soon as we landed we took a taxi down town to see if we could locate Scott. As we stopped at a stop light a sparkling white '71 Chevrolet convertible stopped beside us, and who do you suppose was in it? Yes, you guessed it right. There sat Richard and a car load of girls. One thing we were sure of --this boy hadn’t changed and no girl had been able to hook him. We talked with him for a while and found out that he ran the most popular night club in the town. Girls, con- vertibles, night clubs: yes, it all figures. We said good-bye to him because we still had some traveling to do. While we were flying back from Garden we remembered a classmate named Bill Dimitt who said he was going to help his father farm when he got out of school; so we landed our time machine in the yard of the Dimitt farm. There we found Bill tinkering with his hobby. He has spent the last ten years trying to invent a walking hot dog and a bun that will keep up. When we got back to Johnson that evening we looked in the telephone directory to see if we could find the names of any other of the old graduating class. Listed among the T's we found Mike Troutman. We learned that Mike, who never did like manual labor has spent his life perfecting a small motor to operate the keys on sardine cans. Also in the phone directory we found Bill Nicholas name. He still has that ’58 Ford which is really sooped up, but he had to soop it up because he is a member of the Johnson Police Force and had to have a way to catch the wild kids that now attend the Johnson High School. Also in the directory we find Troy's name. He is now teaching in the Johnson High School. Troy has replaced Prof. Reid who spends most of his time sitting on his porch singing When you and I were young Maggie. We also found two more of our classmates making a livelihood in this bustling town of Johnson. In one of the tours of the town we saw the Creason Clothing Center. We walked in and found Sharon. She and C. L. Creason opened this store about six years ago. We talked to Sharon for awhile and she said she wanted us to see one of her employees. She led us back to the womens fashions and there stood the most beautiful model we had ever seen. There was no mistaking, this model was Janice Teeter. She hadn't married, how she escaped that we'll never know. Up to date we had found all but four members of our graduating class. We played a hunch and called Mrs. Peterson, who lived here in Johnson, to see if she knew the where-abouts of Jim Morris. Things were just as we had expected, Jim and Pat were living on a ranch in Colorado. It seems as though Jim's lifelong dream had come true --raising calves, colts, and canaries. Robert Plummer isknownamong the gold-recording artists. He has been a real success. His first record to sell a million copies was a love song entitled There's something fishy in My Arms. Tony Durans education took a queer twist, he now has a large office in our neigh- boring town of Manter. The impressive sign on the office door says: Tony Duran, Doctor of Dentistry, specialty removal of hens teeth. The last member of our class but certainly not of the least importance is Darleen Carrithers. This girl has really gone places. She soared high in Politics. Darleen was hired as a manicurist by the President to trim the toe-nails of his homing pigeons. Mr. McNeely, our class sponsor, we understand has made a great advancement from his teaching job here in Johnson. He is now employed as the chief cutter of spud- nut holes in his spudnut shop, on the moon. This production is quite a scientific pro- cess . It is surprising how a class can get scattered out in just ten years, but it is com- forting to know each person is making a place for himself in the world. 37 Senior Babies Mike Troutman Larry Martin Dave Harmon Bill Nicholas Robert Plummer Jerry Jones Jim Morris Janice Teeter Bill Dimitt Bill Seyb Troy Marion Darleen Carrithers 38 NOT PICTURED: Tony Duran Richard Scott Graduation Larry Martin Jerry Jones Robert Plummer Richard Scott Edward Wilson Tony Duran Sharon Edwards Troy Marion 4 - Darleen CaiTithers 39 Bill Seyb Bill Dimitt Bill Nicholas Mike Troutman Jim Morris David Harmon Janice Teeter BACCALAUREATE SUNDAY, MAY 14, 1961 8:15 O’CLOCK Prelude—Carillon T lmadgc Lloyd A.
