CES Mike Thompson. Keith Gwilliam and Chris Hansen show tremendous dedi- cation to the school and to the team Their feeling of obligation to their committment always comes before their personal desires. Their contrib- utions are appreciated. To have many skills and talents is exhausting. 8th GRADE RECOG ITIO Many are talented: but few are willing to develop their talents by many hours of practice and to share it gener- l ously with others. Consider the students you see on these pages as representatives of all those you know who set a goal. work towards it. share the fruits of their labor, and don't brag about it. The violin is not an easy' instru- ment to play. If you were lucky enough to have been a partici- pant in the German Weihna- chten celebration. you would have heard Jim Choo play' the Cantique Noel. Any one who has the courage to play' the unwieldy cello. has grace and cour- age. Elizabeth Tucker. a member of the C.C.Y.S.. seems to play it with the greatest of ease. N Jonathan Feng. recent soloist with the Diablo Symphony. plays his trumpet beautifully Even a two week layoff would cause the mus- celes in his lip to go slack and high notes impossible to reach. Those who play' a brass instrument know that daily' practice is the only vtay to stay on top. lf one were to throw any instri ment at Phil Miscovich. he woul probably catch it and play it. Fc the school band he plays pian- sax. and clarinet. Dana Hazzard. Kristen Conover and Maureen Bangs all swim ft A.A.U. clubs. Do you realize that they swim laps every morir before school . . . and then go and swim some more after schoo To get their A and AA times they often spend several wee? ends a month swimming in meets.

fs Alison Cormack represents all those A stu- dents who put out their IOOWZ best even though 509 would get them their A's. lt is a temptation when we are blessed with aca- demic ability, to put outjnst enough to main- tain an A. Not only does she. and many oth- ers like her do outstanding work. they don't brag about it. 104 Do you need ajob done? Don't bother instructing Suzie or Kim. they'll do without!! They know what to do and how to get themselves organized. That must be the reason they are also outstanding students. Sean Flaherty and Mike Hahn our eartoonists in residence. You probably have noticed their efforts on blackboards and the newspaper. I5 years from now you might see their name in print. a t V V In Q ifsiiief 19237 Cholly Mills is one of many students at Stanley who is an outstanding athlete. fantastic student. and who puIS herself out for others IOOW of the time. Janet Kisner and Mogy Hackney are outstanding athletes. who put in a lot of time and energy help- ing others. Ryann Marlowe. a fantastic athlete with a super-positive attitude, placed in Security National Bank's I0 Kilometers race. Have you had an extra amount of sunshine in your life lately? That's because Bonnie has been around you. Does she ever do anything for herself?
