Coach Proctor began the season with a number of tough practices to get the fellows in shape. The players feel they acquired valu- able knowledge of the game and much ex- perience in playing it from those practices, and best of all they learned to work together as a team. JUNIOR HIGH SPORTS Junior High football did not enjoy a successful season. The boys were all inexperienced and their ', equipment was crude. They lost five games, but gained valuable experience for next year's gridiron battles. Junior High basketball had a decidedly better record. There was a total of thirty boys out for practice which was held daily by Mr. Walker at the Armory. This practice started November 3 and ex- tended thru March 9 when the last game was play- ed. Most of the practice time was devoted to funda- mental drills and plays to build sound players for the varsity in the years to come. The games played and the resulting scores are listed as follows: 1. Chippewa Lost 38-33 There 2. Cornell Won 47-48 Here 3. Eau Claire Won 29-32 There 4. Chippewa Lost 40-32 Here 5. Augusta Won 30-44 There 6. Augusta Won 20-38 Here 7. Cornell Won 26-32 There 8. Eau Claire Won 38-43 Here 9. Osseo Won 39-45 There 10. Holcombe Lost 33-34 Cornell JUNIOR HIGH BASKETBALL-6 The Basketball squad includes Coach Link Walker, John Thompson, Dick Halmstad, Jerry Berseth, Tod Hen- ning, Sydney Thompson, Duane De Sota, Tom Webber, Jason Henderson, Jim Peterson, and David Dickre1L Dick Peterson is missing from the picture but saw action with the boys this year.
