CORNELL OWEN THORP CORNELL CADOTT' BASKETBALL The Oriole Cagers opened their season under Coach Halstead by defeating Gilman in a 37-44 thriller. This was the start of a successful season for the Oriole squad. Most of the players had previous experience under their belts. After getting beat by Cornell, the localites took victories from Abbotsford, Mondovi, Neillsville, Withee, Owen, and McDonell, to end with a record of 9 wins ? losses. 'Perhaps the best game played by the Cagers was at Thorp when Stanley took a first quarter lead. The score seesawed back and forth until in the final minutes, Thorp stalled out the game to hold Stanley to a 30-31 score.
