TUDE T COUNCIL L. to R.: Merton Cooney, Bill Jordan, Bev Heian, Dido Overgard, Betty Halmstad, Sandra Milligan, Gretchen Solie, Marion Miland, Karen Henderson, Richard Krueger, Diane Gibbs, Lois Meyer. A new type of Student Government has been organ- ized this year in what is known as the Student Coun- cil. The Council consists of three members from each class which meets regularly twice a week. The of- ficers of the council are as follows: President, Bill jordan, Vice-President, Merton Cooney, Secretary, Dido Overgardg and Treasurer, Lois Meyer. Other members are: Arlene Anderson, Betty Halmstad, Sandy Milligan, Gretchen Solie, Marion Miland, Karen Henderson, Dick Krueger, and Diane Gibbs. The Council has quite a list of accomplishments for the school year. They had charge of Homecoming events, the Red Cross Drive, the March of Dimes, and the calendar for concessions after basketball games. The Council also suggested policies for ab- sence and tardiness, made up the Award Day pro- gram, and selected lyceum numbers for the school year 52 and 55 . The installation of the members for the Council was the first of its kind. We hope for more of this. Con- gratulations to the Student Council.
