Longfellow 4 ... of Our 1970 Memo W t I i m Ttie 1970 MEMO is dedicated to MR. WILLIAM EDWARD LEEDY, coach of the District Champion Stanford Wildcats football team and runner-up coach of the year for the state of Kentucky. His guiding influence led the Stanford team to the best record it has ever attained, 7-0-2. However, Mr. Leedy’s influence is not limited to the gridiron-he is never too engrossed in his own personal obligations to extend a helping hand to anyone at anytime. The ideals for which he stands will never be forgotten, but will remain in the minds of the students of Stanford High School forever. We think of death as ending; let us rather think of life as beginning, and that more abundantly. We think of losing; let us think of gaining. We think of parting, let us think of meeting. We think of going away; let us think of arriving. And as the voice of death whispers “You must go from earth,” let us hear the voice of Christ saying, “You are but coming to Me!” Macleod KEITH ALLEN BENDER “To attain true happiness, one must be able to impart happiness to others.” Seniors THOMAS WAYNE BARLOW “The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.” ELLEN MARIE ALLEN “No one is useless in this world who lightens the burden of it to anyone else.” DORTHEA LORANE ADAMS “Love is a faith, and one faith leads to another.” —Amiel PATSY CAROL CONLEY “A good name lost is seldom regained. -When character is gone, all is gone, and one of the richest jewels of life is lost forever.” RUSSELL BROWN “Fortune is a prize to be won.
