Foreword .We, the co-editors of the 1965 MEMO present to you, the reader, this collection of what we hope will be your favorite memories. If, in the presentation of this book, we succeed in bringing forth from the past, fond thoughts of the happy years at Stanford High School, we shall feel that our work has received a just reward. We aspire to create in the cold fireplace of forgotten memories the warm glow of the spark of remembrance that will bring back the halls and hayrides, teachers and tests, bus rides and ball games of dear old S.H.S. We hope to bring you this in such a fashion that you will never forget this year because there will never be another like it. Pat Nunemaker Robin Leach i Co-Editors Dedication We, the seniors of 1965, wish to dedicate our MEMO to a person who has truly left his mark on Stanford High School. We will never forget his fine example and guidance, and we sincerely thank him for all of his help. With deepest love and sincerity we dedicate our MEMO to Mr. Rodney Walker. ? BOARD OF EDUCATION--Leonard Boone, Alvin Gander, Robert Baughman, Chairman Ben Gaines, Arch Walker. J. C. EDDLEMAN, Superintendent WELCOME SUPERINTENDENT'S MESSAGE As you are graduated from Stanford High School, you are receiving our stamp of approval. As we sign and deliver your diploma, we certify to the world that you have met our academic requirements. There is the further assurance that you have developed acceptable qualities of character and citizenship. I trust that each of you will always remain worthy of our enduring confidence. NORMAN MC GUFFEY, Principal We wish to extend a hearty welcome to our new principal and leader, Mr. Norman McGuffey. His service to our school has inspired the student body to greater responsibility. His patience and keen interest in the welfare of the student have made immeasurable contributions to the success of our school. We wish to express our thanks to Mr. McGuffey for his sincere efforts to make this year a successful one. 4 MRS. ZELLA MONTGOMERY Elementary Principal . and Director of Pupil Personnel Life demands much from us, nor does it accept excuses when we fail to measure up. In order to attain the best measurements we might be wise to follow Hamlet's advice when he said, To thine own self be true; and it must follow, as the night the day, thou canst not then be false to any man. The wise man shuts his door at night And pulls the bolts and drops the bars. One must go trustful through the dark To earn the friendship of the stars. —Scudder Middleton 14 BOBBY CAMENISCH Baseball 1,2,3,4; Basketball 1,2, 3; Football 3,4, FFA 1,2,4, Treas. 4; Bronze Medal in National FFA Meat Judging Contest; 4-H 1,2; Pep Club 3.
