They were Susan Beazley, Georgia Lee Cox. Joan Hurst, Gloria Robinson, Birdie Dell Southard, Jim Woods Adams, Norman Anderson, Harry Hill Baughman, Tommy Hester, Jack Hester Harold Long, Bob Noe, Marvin Reed and George 0. Spoonamore. In the second grade Carroll Brent joined our group, but Gloria Robinson left us to go to Lancaster and Jack Hester went to Crab Orchard. In the third grade Nellie Rogers, our star female athlete, j oined us. Our number wasn’t increased until the sixth grade, when Wanda Colyer, Jean Taylor and Billy Hastie joined our group. Billy Hastie left us the latter part of the sixth grade, but found there was none like us anywhere else and came back. We also gained Lucy Jones in the seventh grade and lost Susan Beazley and Wanda Colyer. In the eighth grade Jack Hester and Susan Beazley came back to graduate with us, and Gloria Robinson returned for our Freshman year. In our sophomre year we were joined by Marlene Patterson from Kings Mountain. Betty Tillett and Peggy Jo Brown came to be with us the last two years of our journey, and Margie Farmer and Wanda Colyer rejoined us for the last and most important year of our high school career. CLASS PROPHECY It is now 195 8 and when I think of my former classmates, some really amazing things have happened. Margie Farmer, better known as Henry Clay Farmer, is now head of the biggest law firm in New York. If you want to enlarge your muscles go to see Dr. Nellie Rogers. She has a practice in Stanford, Kentucky. We see that Jean Taylor is a technician ad the Stanford Hospital these days. Weedie Cox is now Mrs. Jesse Hocker, Jr. and is raising a state champion basketball team. Jack Hester has been elected President of the United States and has settled down in Key West, Florida. We now see Hatch Baughman sitting back at his desk at Baughman Milling Co. trying to figure out how to get a three pound sack of flour into a five pound sack and to sell it for the price of a ten pound sack. Peggy Jo Brown is still in Stanford waiting to become Mrs. Roy Berry. Bob Noe and Jim Woods Adams have just graduated from the University of Kentucky School of Agriculture. Jim is married to Tina and has settled down in dear old Lincoln county to raise kids. Bob is just raising ‘farm animals Joan Hurst and Gloria Robinson are married to two fine Government employees. You guessed it, the Army and the Navy. They get all the luck. Marvin Reed is now playing pro-basketba11 with the Indianapolis Olympians. We see that Marlene Patterson is a secretary in Indianapolis Indiana, staying close to Marvin. Tommy Hester is now manager of the New Lincoln Theatre. He is finally bringing some good shows to Stanford. The kind he likes with lots of girls in them. Wanda Colyer is now operating the Taylor grocery store, located on Lancaster Road. Birdie Dell Southard and Norman Anderson are now Mr. fc Mrs. and are living in Stanford. Mrs. Anderson is still working at Sam Robinson's and Doug is still loafing at Begley's. If you want food or any kind of merchandise cheap, go see the owner of Hastie Wholesale Company. Billy Roy Hastie. Susan Beazley is now Mrs. Orville McGuffey and has settled down in San Diegok California, to raise some 'little sailors'. Carroll Brent and Harold Long are now managers of rival stores. Brent, the A. 8c P. , and Harold, Kroger. Betty Tillett is now manager of the Cowden Plant in Stanford. George 0. Spoonamore is now owner of one of the largest Blue Grass Farms in Fayette County and has found time to become the head teacher in the Ag. Department at U. of Ky. If any one gets sick and has to go to the Stanford Hospital, he will find himself in the good care of Nurse Lucy Jones. CLASS WILL We, the graduating class of 1952, in the studying of our high school days, naturally have accumulated various and valuable possessions. We have acquired a vast store of knowledge, and a great skill in athletics. Therefore, we are burdened with these possessions and think it fitting to dispose of them. We realize that the school as a whole will be at a great disadvantage if we take all of our priceless possessions as well as ourselves. We therefore, make this our last will and testament to dispose of our possessions that we have acquired in the last 12 years in the way we know best, and make fitting bequests to those worthy and needy. We leave to the Junior Class our seats in the Senior Room and the lunchroom. To the Sophomores we leave our culture and disciplined ways. To the Freshmen we leave our stamina and courage of which it has taken much during the last four years Marlene Patterson leaves to Shirley Martin her cheerleading out fit. Nellie Rogers leaves her flirting ways to Kate Ball. Jean Taylor leaves her ability to drive fast to Carolyn Wyler. Gloria Robinson leaves her ability to 'brown nose to T. Weaver who needs it badly. Carroll Brent leaves his banana eating ability to Billy M.Bell Tack Hester bequeaths his Latin speaking ability to Eddie Robinson. Billy Roy Hastie leaves his ability to sleep late on Monday mornings to Briar Clark. Margie Farmer leaves her ‘poodle haircut to Martha Harmon. Marvin Reed leaves his ability to play basketball to Donald Potts. Birdie Dell Southard wills her ability to catch a man to Lula Gay Griffin. Peggy Jo Brown leaves her ability to chew gum to Mr. Forsythe. Lucy Jones wills her long hair to Ann Caudill. Betty Tillett leaves he ability to be seen and not heard to Johanna Camenish. Ronnie Patterson inherits Jim Woods Adams' 10b of tending the ice plant. Tommy Hester leaves his ability to keep you laughing to Bill Cox. Fanalee Ball inherits Geo. 0. Spoonamore s parking place. Harold Long leaves his hook shot on the basketball floor to Donnie Whitehouse. Norman Anderson wills his way to catch women to Victor Young. Harry Hill Baughman leaves the road map to Short Sauf ley so he can go to Harrodsburg by himself. Wanda Rae Colyer leaves Nancy Murphy her ability to be late t o schoo 1. Bob Noe wills his ability to catch fish to Mr. Norris, Susan Beazley leaves to the girls of Stanford High School her ability to catch all the sailors on furlough. Joan Hurst leaves Alice Traylor her place in the lunchroom. Weedie Cox leaves her good grades to Billy Mac Bell. •„ . 1 Compliments of L flc B Drive In on U S 150 Stanford, Kentucky ’Meet the crowd here1 WAY BACK WHEN1 1. Susan 7 . George 0 2. Jean 8. The team started off with a loss to Winchester by a score of 25-13. The ‘Cats' looked as if they would win the second game but were defeated 7-6 by Carlisle in the last 40 seconds of play. The Wildcats with two losses were determined to win the next game and defeated Harrods-burg 25-12. The Cats were defeated for the last time during the season by a strong Lebanon team 20-7 With a record of 3 losses and 1 win the Cats started on the road to win. They defeated Georgetown 20-0 Nicho1 asvi 1 le 33-7 and Lancaster our old rivals, 15-7. This game gave us the right-to keep the jug which we have had for the past six years. The cats hopes of winning the Dis- r c Tournament were darkened when Marvin Reed was injured in the last game of the season, and couldn't participate in the tournament. While being in fourth place in the C. K. C. most of the year t the Cats finished in seventh. By being in the top eight teams of the C. K. C. the Cats were invited to take part in the C. K. C, Tournament where they met and defeated Paris. The tournament record doesn’t speak very well for the cats, but the over all record does prove that Stanford had a very successful season.
