There were only three out this year that was out for the team last year. They were: Kim Brown, Debbie Hastings, and Maxine Marcum. Instead of three or four going to Sub-district and District, everyone was able to go and participate in one of the events. The girls didn't go very far but it was worth attending because it gave the girls some experience that will help them in the years to come. We didn't have any team wins but we did have individual wins. We had a lot of fun in tennis this year and it was good experience for the beginners. Next year we expect to do lots better since most of the girls that went out this year plan on going out next year. 37 Back Row L to R: Terry Myers; Kim Brown; Cindi Cluckle; Debbie Hastings; Mrs. Marklund; Front Row L to R: Phyllis Abercrombie; Val Smith; Maxine Marcum; Tracy Dickason; Rose Powell Watch That Form! Stanfield started out this year with a bleak 3 game losing streak. But showing the pride that goes with a Stanfield team, they came back to own a 14-11 record for the year. The team's record for conference play was six wins and two losses. This record entitled S.II.S. to go to an Eastern Division championship game with Pilot Rock. This game was played at Robert White-Babe Ruth Baseball Park in Pendleton. At the game three S.H.S. players made it possible for Stanfield to walk away with a 14-2 win. Both Ron Berry and Jim Newland went three hits for five times at bat. Also Jim hit two doubles and Ron hit one double. But the thing that got our team started was when Keith Garber hit a double in the first inning. With that win behind the team they went on to the district championships. This game was played at Stanfield against Sherman High School. Sherman led until the end of the seventh inning when the Tiger team scored a run to tie the game. This tie sent the game into extra innings and Sherman took control of the game defeating Stanfield 4-1 in the eighth inning. However, the Stanfield team is to be commended for the fine playing they showed the people of Stanfield. Stanfield starting nine. leisure time spent before the game. Stanfield Home Run Hitters: Ron Berry, Keith Garber, Jim Newland Pitcher Brent Kasari 40 Student Government Cindi Cluckie - Secretary Bob Whelan - Vice President Dana Rachor - Treasurer Brent Kasari - President This year’s Student Council had one main goal. This goal was to raise enough money to help pay for the boy’s and girl's sports uniforms. Money from the carnival was the biggest help. The 1974-75 Carnival was a tremendous success!! Other income came from gate admissions and from the pop machine. Ixjftto right: Standing Jr. Pres. Jim Newland, Sr. Rep. Alan Porter, Sr. Pres. Bill Brandt, Jr. Rep. Marv Mills, So. Pres.
