Raymond Wallace wills his cotton hair to Johnny Hickman Junrors thrs rs all that we have our trarts our abrlrtres and our dreams so take good care of them and use them well U15 561410 Z7 zfplzecy One day as I came out of a conference wrth my Parrs desrgner on my way to the bar I mean car my busrness manager COTTON WALLACE came mnnrng toward me wrldly wavrng a tele gram You ve made rt at last You ve hrt the top now You are requested by the PRESIDENT LUTHER GRANT DAVIS better known as Red to desrgn the costumes for the World Prerruer to be held at Stamps Whatabreak Gettrng to Stamps the next largest crty rn the Unrted States The next thrng you know I ll be gettrng mto Buckner to desrgn After a few mrnutes whrch seemed lrke hours rn my new Rrggrns' desrgned Jet Shrp I landed at Stamps As I walked mto the burldrng Iran rnto BILLY RIGGINS Telhng htm of my recent trrp he at once asked rf I en1oyed my space shrp I of course told hrm I had and even told hrm hrs planes and shrps had taken the place of Fords After checkrng rn at the Knrghton P Hotell asked where most of the celebrrtres would be and upon takrngasecond glance the proprretors turned out to be IDYCE KNIGHTON and DOROTHY PEEVYKn1ghtor1 two of my old classmates After hearrng about therr frve boys I was told how to reach the new Phoney Island located on beautrful Lake June recently constructed by the world reknownengrneer JOHNNY SHEWMAKE upon whrch stands the famous nrght spot Johnny Ray s Whrle standrng on the bank contemplatrng on how to get out to Phoney Island a splash of water announced a boat After the Jets were turned off a slow easy talkrng guy sard Are you lookrng for a taxr out to Phoney Island? Then I recognized her to be BARBARA ROPER I could see she was in a dither soltold het to have a seat and order a double butter SCOTCH soda As soon as she could get her breath she told me she had been working for CHARLES WILLIAMS for two years private secretary keeping records and dates of all his girl friends straight Six hours ago she explained he had leftwith HELEN KESTNER, ex major of the W A F to take some private flying lessons but a call out there assured her he was here So here she was LENORA WISE a famous movie actress arrived a day early for the premier and Charles 15 for wasj to be her escort As we sat there sipping our sodas I learned that FRANK and BENNIE owned and operated the Willis Brick Manufactormg Company and lived in their own brick made mansion Just outside Texarkana JESSE and JOANN have their television show over the world wide network K O R N Barbara explained that this was a popular varietv show in which Jesse did bird calls and played the har for the boys and the elephants which are a part of the show According to radro commentator for colummstj HAZEL JACKSON who had taken over Hedda Hopper s program and column a few years back the program ran neck and neck in Screen Guild s contest for most popular television show with JACK PARKER S show featuring VERA LEE JOHNSON the Modern Dagmar Barbara suggested we go back to the hotel and catch a few winks as the Premier was officially opened at a breakfast later on in the morning at 10 30 Back in Buddre s crurserwe bumped 1nto BILL RIGGINS and BOB NIX with their glamorous dates They are the famous detectives who have branch offices in San Diego New York and Houston and we dlscovered they had acquired even more fame recently when they solved the case of the Miss ing Magazine for Miss Syble Tatom The next morningl woke to the music of children playing Space War on the floor above As I crawled over a big silver saucer like object I ran face to face with one of my old chums MARY JO HATFIELD Now she was trying to corner an even dozen chlldren She and her husband now furnish the panelofprrvate quiz kids As we walked down the hall and talked over old times I asked about ARNELL HOLLIS and hubby Mary Jo laughingly told me that they were having trouble with therrdaughterwho had fallen desperately in love with the son of GLENDON NICHOLAS who was a world renowned hot rod driver coming up rn his father s footsteps or rather ure tracks Arnell and Horace Lynn were trying to persuade their daughter to wait until she was a few years older she was nrne years old As I made my way down the hall I couldn t help wondering at the drastic changes that had come over mx old classmates But I drdn t have to wonder for long Because up the walk came a young man looking very much like the man that was principal at Stamps and on his arm a very pretty young girl who farntly resembled the Superintendent As they went by I heard the girl say Ronnie , ' .. - , ., v p I - . . . , I I I U . n . 1 l , H , . . y . . - . . . l ' . . . . . , . monica while his two sons did tumbling tricks.
