It consisted of sixty-eight members including the traditional three pep-leaders and three co-leaders this past year. The purpose of the organization is to stimulate school spirit during football season. Many successful pep rallys were held by the organization on Thursday nights and Friday mornings. The members, in their colorful blue and white uniforms, gave many excellent performances at the football games, The Pep Squad honored the football team with the traditional football banquet which was the climax of the season. E ,,,, A CLASS OF 53 CLASS HISTORY In the yearof 1949 the Class of '53 began their bright and brillant future as freshmen. As the yuletjde season neared, we held our first class party, which was a great success. For a perfect climax to our Freshman year, a wonderful time was had by all who attended the class picnic at Abilene State Park. Another outstanding year was in sight as we began our career as Sophomores. On returning from our Christmas holidays, we immediately planned a table game party which proved an exciting time for all. Another trip to Abilene State Park climaxed this year. As carefreejuniors we set out to conquer the world. One of our first activities was a skating trip to Abilene. Our dramatic career began with the Junior Play. The result of our hard work was a tremendous success from which we obtained enough money to finance our junior-Senior Banquet. This banquet proved to be one of the most successful to be held in Stamford High School. Again we concluded a great year with a trip to Abilene State Park. Our final and most outstanding year began as we plunged into cake sales, talent shows, and various other activities in order to earn money for our Senior Trip. We were honored by a banquet at the Methodist Church followed by a reception at the First Baptist Church. The production of the Senior Play proved a credit to the record of the Senior Class. Our numerous efforts were rewarded by a wonderful Senior Trip which consisted of a tour through Austin, Corpus Christi, and San Antonio. After the many enjoyable times we have had during the past four years, we now look forward to the junior-Senior Banquet and the day of our graduation.
