 We, the Class of 1981, with much appreciation and gratitude, proudly dedicate this year's Voice to Mr. Jeffery Gearhart. Mr. Gearhart set forth the idea that we must first help ourselves before the aid of others follows. He taught us to fight for what we believe in and to stand proudly on our own two feet, even when the earth underneath starts to tremble. He stressed the impor- tance of taking advantage of the opportunities that come our way even if it means beginning to travel on a dimly lit road that brightens as the road continues. Mr. Gearhart has taught us well, not only in the classroom, but also in the several school musicals he has directed throughout the years. To many of us he has become our friend, someone to laugh with and someone to talk with during our days spent at SCS. Thank you Mr. Gearhart, for your continual ef- fort and support in helping us find ourselves. 25
