Dedication We, the staff of the 1960 VOICE, are proud to dedicate this yearbook to Mrs. Florence Kaufmann, teacher, counselor, friend. In her years at SCS, Mrs. Kaufmann has given willingly of her time and talents to the whole of the school. She has been a major force in guiding many lives to their purposes. Students from elementary grades, Junior High School and remedial reading will remember Mrs. Kaufmann as a fine teacher. Mrs. Kaufmann is a prominent member of our community, too. She is a member and ruling elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Stamford. A member of the D. A. R., she is an area Regent. Mrs. Kaufmann was Presi- dent of the Stamford Teacher's Association and a member of various student committees. And so, to you Mrs. Kaufmann, on the eve of your retirement, we extend our greatest gratitude for all you have done for the students and faculty of Stam- ford Central School. We hope that in this way we can pay a portion of the debt we owe you.

Supervising Principal ZUe Captain ami His Crew For landlubbers, the idea of ships and sailing is a theme to stir the imagination. One can think of the Voice as an untried craft and its production as a voyage to be guided by its crew, the Staff. One gets ink- lings that the sailing has not always been smooth; occasionally heavy seas have pound - ed the decks, but so far no crewmen have washed overboard. We hope some useful seamanship has been developed on the part of the crew members which they can take on a future cruise. At last information, it appeared that the ship was on course and would make port. FRONT ROW, left to right: Dr. William A. Greene, Erich Theile. President; Melvin Carpenter. District Superintendent. SECOND ROW, left to right: James Hardwood, Russell Frazee, Everett Simmons. SECRETARY Grace Davenport
