The National Honor Society is an organization of students from all over the United States. Those in the upper third of their class scholastically were candidates. These were judged by the Faculty on the basis of Service, Leadership, and Character. The ones receiving the highest composite ratings were selected as members, Membership is restricted to 15010 of the Senior Class and 501.1 of the Junior Class. Induction of new members was held at 8:00 P, M, on April 13, Parents of members were invited, Our local chapter was organized in 1935, For the purpose of selecting an appro- priate name for the organization, a faculty committee was appointed to investigate the history of local pioneer leaders whose lives might symbolize the four ideals of the society. The name, LaFayette McQuown Chapter of the National Honor Society, was reported and officially approved as the name of our chapter, AL ,1 4, QQV 42- ,Wx f- .11-W S59 S2 ,M .
