Student Council The Purpose When a Student Council is first founded, it is usually done in order to acquire a closer and better relationship between the students at large and the faculty. As a result it acts as a loudspeaker, through which opinions can be exchanged on how to make a school a better place. There are limitations to the amount of power a council can have. In our school we do not assume the authority of making rules and regulations on disciplinary measures for ex- perience has taught that an organization of this kind is not successful. To many the Student Council is a group that puts on various activities during the year. However, this is only a minor purpose. Also it is often recognized as a body which represent the school, since there are members from each home room in it.
