It is in the English classes that students learn to com- pose, write, and appreciate good literature. Com- munication is a very important factor in our very complex world, and a person must be able to write or speak in the correct way so that others will have a full understanding of what he is saying. Studying the writings of certain great people in literature such as Shakespeare, Thoreau, and T. S. Eliot. students learn to develop a style of their own. At Stadium there are many high achievement English classes, and capable students are urged to attend them. In Mr. Arpke's Advanced Place- ment class, exceptional students are further pre- pared for college. The knowledge that is gained in these English classes will be of unending value to Stadium students, no matter what their future plans may be. MR. J.
