HIGHLIGHTS DEDICATION Bishop Stresses Private School Role The solemn blessing by Bishop F. W. Freking of the new St. Xavier's High School in Junction City, on Sunday, August 27, was a proud moment for the pastor, Msgr. Thomas Keogan and for his parishioners. The role of private education in American society was the theme of the main address at dedication ceremonies. Bishop F. W. Freking said, The freedom of education which is assured through private schools is a most important consideration in the present contro- versy over federal aid to education. Quoting from Pope Pius XII, the Bishop pointed out, that the legislation which a country reserves for private schools reflects the level of the spiritual and cultural life of that country. Ground-breaking ceremonies, with Bishop F. W. Freking officiating. Inspection and formal acceptance of the school took place on August 16. M Sgt.
