Champ Salesman of the group was Bob Willcoxon (CENTER), who totaled almost $90 in sales. The subscription drive launched by the Student Council of SXH last October provided the fine opportunity for students to learn the art of salesman- ship and to display their dependability and cooperation--qualities required by every leader. SXS kins and llnern Smiling at the right are King Larry Langvardt and Queen Mary Ann Reighley; crownbearers--Mike Sears and Kristie Hay. They reigned for the day--King Larry and Queen Mary! In the annual contest for the honor of St. Xavier's Day King and Queen, these two freshmen along with their fellow class- mates proved they were workers. By selling the greatest number of chances on a pearl necklace, the freshmen tallied the most votes for their candidates and won for their class the royal honors.

Latin Class PICTURED TO THE RIGHT: Students in Latin II class struggle through the translation of Caesar's Gallic wars. It requires persistent effort and concen- tration to figure out the syntax of each day's assignment, but the effort pays dividends. The knowledge of Latin will prove of immense value to students in a better understanding and use of the English language, as well as an aid in science courses. Learning to trip lightly over type- writer keys is not only a very useful skill but also a powerful means of ac- quiring the essential study habit--con- centration. Shnrlhand Aspiring to take their place in the business world as competent secretaries are the members of the shorthand class. Shown to the left, Susie Corbett and Marilyn Waller, students in Shorthand I, exhibit their skill at the board. Typing Physical Education Physical training as well as mental is essential to the full development of the youth of today--the leaders of tomorrow. A portion of the freshman physical education class is shown to the left in calisthenic action.
