In its third year of existence, at St. Xavier’s, the Student Council has proved to be an asset to the school. Its goal, to promote leadership among the students, has reached its peak this past year as SXH ers exhibited their God-given talents in displaying good example, cooperation, and sportsmanship. Mary Lou crowned the statue of our Lady during the traditional May Crowning ceremonies and offered, in behalf of the student body, their love and gratitude.

St. Xavier's Hay irtivilirs At the coronation cer- emonies on St. Xavier’s Day, shown to the left, are the eight candidates--(LEFT TO RIGHT): Jack Deines, Mary Lou Cole, seniors; Danny Jackson, Margaret McGuire, juniors; Father LeMoine crowning King Larry Langvardt, Queen Mary Ann Reighley, freshman; Dennis Ryan and Ann Gay, sophomores. Champ Salesmen Displaying their citation awards at the left are seven top salesmen in the Crowell-Collier Magazine subscription contest. LEFT TO RIGHT: Dick Spittles, Marilyn Waller, Larry Ryan, Bob Willcoxon, Manuel Pasquil, Katherine Parrick, and Mary Kay Hinitt. Champ Salesman of the group was Bob Willcoxon (CENTER), who totaled almost $90 in sales. The subscription drive launched by the Student Council of SXH last October provided the fine opportunity for students to learn the art of salesman- ship and to display their dependability and cooperation--qualities required by every leader. SXS kins and llnern Smiling at the right are King Larry Langvardt and Queen Mary Ann Reighley; crownbearers--Mike Sears and Kristie Hay. They reigned for the day--King Larry and Queen Mary! In the annual contest for the honor of St. Xavier's Day King and Queen, these two freshmen along with their fellow class- mates proved they were workers. By selling the greatest number of chances on a pearl necklace, the freshmen tallied the most votes for their candidates and won for their class the royal honors.
