Cultural Committee Pictured to the left, members of the Cultural Committee check the Legion of Decency rating on movies in the SUNDAY VISITOR. Committee members (LEFT TO RIGHT): Kathleen Cleary, Robert Willcoxon, Mary Kay Hinitt, chairman; and Danny Jackson have as their aim the promotion of good reading and the attendance of proper shows as means of raising cultural standards among CYS members. I U d I I IS I gold medals with nighly superior ratings. Dorothy placed first in the diocese among the girls and Jack, third in the boys’ division. Apologetics Team Shown at the right are Dorothy Kolich, junior; Marcia Smith, freshman; Manuel Pasquil and Joe Schad, seniors. This quartet represented SXH at the semi-finals of the apologetics contest, held in Belleville, October 24. Dorothy and Manuel, who rated highly superior, were entitled to participate in the diocesan finals at Victoria, November 1. Manuel scored second place honors and received a gold medal for his rating.

Social Committee Social Committee members at the right: Judy Cole, DickWolters, Danny Dreiling, chairman; Jim Wahle, Mimi Wood, and Dorothy Kolich provided wholesome fun and entertainment for CYS members at monthly parties. Highlights of their year’s program of entertainment included an October picnic, the Parent-Student Mixer, a Valentine Formal and a skating party. Valentine Formal At the right students are shown enjoy- ing the annual Valentine formal held in the school library on February 18. A novel feature of the evening was the presentation of a gift to the girl who displayed the most beautiful, modest formal. Shirley Whaley was the prize winner. L. Publicity Committee Keeping the bulletin board 'in trim was the task of Cathy Dague and Mary Eleanor Nolan, shown at the left. The importance of Church feast days as well as school activities was brought to the attention of the student body through the attractive displays designed by these CYS workers.

May Queen of 1955 The honor of reTgnTfl Pfeen of 1955 was bestowed on Mary Louise Cole, co-editor of Le Sou- venir. On Mother's Day, May 8, Queen. Mary Lou crowned the statue of our Lady during the traditional May Crowning ceremonies and offered, in behalf of the student body, their love and gratitude.
