At last! After long years of hard work wa wara finally fresh- man. Oh aura thara wara lots of nicknames, Frosh, Greenies, but tha truth la we wara vary much appraclatad In high achool and not a bit acarad. Wall not much. Tha seats wara larger, ao wara mo8t of tha haad8. And thao thara was initiation whan some of ua thought we were really mistreated. And Latin—dear old Latin—naturally wa were speaking tha language fluently in no time at all. But our spirits soared and wa realized high achool could have its lighter momenta which we thoroughly enjoyed at those wonderful class parties. Tha time fairly flaw and before we knew it we were sophomores. Of course wa looked at everything from an angle after so much geomet- ry but wa could afford to after all this was our second year and wa ware wall established. Wall weren’t we?? Anyway we ware sort of in the middle where we could look down on the Freshies, and up to the seniors only. After all the Juniors were in the middle, too. Still wa knew it would be nice to be a Junior, they seemed to share their secrets with tha seniors or so it seemed. But when the time came there was one thing we kept to ourselves—plans for the Junior Senior Prom were closely guarded by all and the big day was really some- thing. It meant aching backs (from hard work) but it was well worth the effort. And then ah yea! wonderful seniors. It's true there were more privil-ges and then of course a certain thrill in making preparations for graduation but the time flew too quickly and now we find ourselves about to step to the threshold of a different life. SENIOR WILL To the class of 1948 the seniors of 47 wish to bequeath their gay manner and winning ways in hopes that they will use them with the same intelligence. Bob Johnston, Bill Curtis, Bob Wynn, and Pat McGuire (water boy) leave to Dick Sangster, Jack Wahle, Bob Lathrop, and Joe Collins their skill in basketball which merited many high scores this season. Pat McGuire also bequeathes his book of illustrated Jitterbug steps to Bernard Hoover and the Sullivant boys (it should work!) Joann Fitzpatrick and Helen Brandon leave to Betty Corbett and Antoinette McDonald their nonchalant manner of collecting ads (future business managers.) Dorothy Hoover and Patricia Alexander relinquish their musical ability to Henrietta Alexander and Barbara Costello hoping they will continue where they left off—and you need musicians. To Norma Jean Wolters, Beverly O’Malley, Patsy Talbot, and Len- ora Willcoxon leave their outstanding skill as writers and also their shy, quiet, reserved personalities—o.k. so it isn't true. Bob Brandon, Phil Brandon, and Kenneth Davis give to John Oliver, Bob Bellinger, and Paul Spittles their spirit and determination to never give up. Jean Harris, Glorianne Heroneme, and Margaret Beavers leave to Wilma and Bernice Boiler their parking spaces with taxi service in- cluded . Mary Ann Mika gives her hello Job to Betty Corbett.
