4 .Z 5 5 .. 19 may N Uv' if an-nv bmw.. aww ew, -+4 ' Q M. fl it FCUNDATICN There was a man, says Christ, who built his house upon rock, and the rain fell and the floods came and the winds blew and beat upon that house, but it did not fall. It was founded upon rock. You can't get very far without a good foundation. If you build your life on sand, if you flit about and rush through the job, the whole structure will be no- thing but a flimsy shanty. You'll collapse under the difficulties of life. Yet, on the other hand, if you labor to achieve a solid liberal education from high school onwards, to construct a firm Ignation moral and in- tellectual foundation, your house will stand. It is founded upon rock. The parable of the rock foundation comes fre- quently to mind these days. The recent death of Pius XII and the solemn coronation of John XXIII prompt the world to re-examine the claims of a structure whose foundation is a rock that is Peter. Here in Cincinnati, we've all been closely following the construction work on the new Saint Xavier School foundation at North Bend Road. As the new structure slowly rises-and the rain and winds blow and beat upon that house-we daydream of the fu- ture when this rock and all that is built upon it will come to life. The Sectional Pages of the 1959 X-RAY will picture various stagesin the progressive growth of this foundation, and a few of our dreams that accompany it. 1, Q Present reality and future 'f ...Q--...,.. fa' dream.
