Rev. Richard I. Brown, SJ. Mr. O'Leary, a teacher at St. Xavier for over a quarter of a century, still has a full schedule of five math classes, including three Geometry and two Alge- bra in second and third years. A popular newcomer at St. Xavier, Mr. Dulin moderates the junior Sodality and the highly successful Bellarmine Dcbaters. Scholastically, hc teaches freshman English and Algebra classes. Familiar to all those who use the student library, Father Meder also is sponsor of the junior Red Cross here at St. X. Church. Sl Rev. john L. Uhl, SJ. Mr. john R. O'Leary Mr. John McAnaw and successful organization. Veteran Religion and Algebra teacher, Father Brown this year completes his thirty-second year of teaching. His day is rounded out with the hearing of confessions in St. Xavier If little is seen of Father Uhl when he is not teaching his four math classes a day, it is that he is busy in the Alumni Oflice. Father has done much to keep the Alumni an active An interesting fact about Mr. McAnaw, and one not too Well known, is that he feels just as much at home on a baseball diamond as in an Algebra, Geometry, or Trigonometry class. The math occupies him during the school year, while coaching knothole baseball teams consumes his time during the summer months. Mr. john T. Dulin, SJ. Rev. Stephen A. Meder, SJ.

Father VValsh, who has studied extensively at leading uni- versities in America and abroad. has been teaching for twenty-eight years. In this. his fifth year at Xavier, he is conducting classes in Latin, Creek, and Religion. The man responsible for this particular edition of the St. Xaxier High School X-RAY is Mr. Bastian. He also conducts lively classes in Greek for juniors and Latin for freshmen and seniors. Father Shuman is the able mentor of Spanish, teaching two senior and two junior classes. Father will long be remembered for his quiet and interesting classes. Bev. Kenneth M. Shuman, S.J. Mr. Thomas W. Gedeon, SJ. Mr. John I. Brennan Rev. Joseph A, Walsh, SJ. Mr. Ralph J. Bastian, SJ. XVhatever the year or tht- language, Mr. Cahill handles it at St. X, for he teaches Latin to sophomores and seniors and French to the juniors. He is the moderator of tht- junior and varsity swimming teams, and also has served as student conn- eil moderator during the past year. Mr. P. Joseph Cahill, SJ. Mr. Cedeon ollers his scientific genius to senior physics classes and to the members of the Radio Club, of which he is moderator. He also conducts a freshman Algebra class. Mr. Brennan has his hands full with the task of drilling the intricacies of Chemistry into the heads of most of the juniors. Mr. Brennaifs classes are very informative, and his personality a kind and conscientious one.

The marching hand and orchestra are flourishing this year under the direction of Mr. Traflcanti, who himself is a fmc musician. Mr. Traflcantfs teaching duties consist of Ameri- can and Modern European History. St. Xavier's chief agent for school supplies, Mr. Ricci does a booming business in the Xavier bookstore. Most of the plaudits given to the band for their snappy half- time shows should be directed to Mr. Kay, who planned and directed the intricate forma- tions. After the football season, he coached the orchestra and did the special arranging. 5 jigs' K 1 1 . is M 1 Mr Thomas N Ballaban Mr. Alvin B. Von Holle Mr. Howard C. Kay A large part of St. Xis coaching is done by Tom Ballaban. Ile is the head coach of Xaviefs championship basketball team and holds down the job of assistant coach of the football team. Teaching Ancient History in four freshman classes completes his schedule. Coaching varsity football and reserve basketball keeps Mr. Von Hollc pretty busy most of the year. He conducts classes in History, Economics, and Business Law along with physical education.
