Both the Campion Dehaters and the Sophomore Sodality have Mr, Talkin as their moderator. Teaching first and second year Latin and first year English are some of the other duties he performs at St. X. During the past year Mr. Tallcin has heen the president of the Greater Cin- lm cinnati Speech League. The Xavier Prep, keeping the students informed of the latest events around school, is published under the direc- tion of Mr, Tolhert. He teaches Latin to sophomores and juniors. Mr. Ralph H. Most of his day is spent teaching two freshman Latin classes. The varied half-time skits presented hy the cheerleaders were the result of Mr. Besse's diligent coaching. The moderator of the Archeology Cluh, Mr. W'uest, is also often to hc scen in the lihrary where he assists Father Meder. During the rest of the day he teaches freshman Latin. N Mr. N. 'EN Van ACULTY Mr Thomas G. Savage, SJ. Mr. F. Iames Wetzel, SJ. English and Public Speaking have been taught at Xavier for twenty-seven years by Mr. Glenn, whose ready humor adds interest and variety to all his classes. Handling the job of athletic director at Xavier is Mr. Cagney, who also coaches the freshman basketball team and varsity golf team. In the classroom Mr. Cagney teaches third year English. Mr. Alfred D. Cavanaugh Mr. Savage, besides teaching fourth year English and sec- ond year Public Speaking, also handles the play and oratorical contests at Xavier. This, in addition to being publicity director and assistant athletic director, keeps him busy throughout the year. Mr. Wetzel, moderator of the senior sodalists, teaches third year Latin and second year English. His capable management made the play a financial as well as dra- matic success.

Father VValsh, who has studied extensively at leading uni- versities in America and abroad. has been teaching for twenty-eight years. In this. his fifth year at Xavier, he is conducting classes in Latin, Creek, and Religion. The man responsible for this particular edition of the St. Xaxier High School X-RAY is Mr. Bastian. He also conducts lively classes in Greek for juniors and Latin for freshmen and seniors. Father Shuman is the able mentor of Spanish, teaching two senior and two junior classes. Father will long be remembered for his quiet and interesting classes. Bev. Kenneth M. Shuman, S.J. Mr. Thomas W. Gedeon, SJ. Mr. John I. Brennan Rev. Joseph A, Walsh, SJ. Mr. Ralph J. Bastian, SJ. XVhatever the year or tht- language, Mr. Cahill handles it at St. X, for he teaches Latin to sophomores and seniors and French to the juniors. He is the moderator of tht- junior and varsity swimming teams, and also has served as student conn- eil moderator during the past year. Mr. P. Joseph Cahill, SJ. Mr. Cedeon ollers his scientific genius to senior physics classes and to the members of the Radio Club, of which he is moderator. He also conducts a freshman Algebra class. Mr. Brennan has his hands full with the task of drilling the intricacies of Chemistry into the heads of most of the juniors. Mr. Brennaifs classes are very informative, and his personality a kind and conscientious one.
