-ws .- To the Reader . . . Before you go further we would lilce to offer a word or two of explanation concerning this year's X-RAY. Contrary to the custom followed in former ectitions, no attempt has been made in the 1945 X-RAY to linlc together the various activities of the school with a theme idea. The incorporation of a theme, while highly desirable, would re- quire the use of pages which we thinlc could he hetter filled with photographs of the large student-body enrolled this year at St. Xavier. In fact, the number of students is so large this year that the seniors are talcing their classes at Xavier University. For the henetit of the senior class we would like to include more views of the heautilui campus in Avondale, but space limits forbid. ln normal times it would have been possible to enlarge the hook, hut this year such a move is impossible since we have produced the hoolc in strict confomxity to the War Production Board regulations concerning year-hooks. Despite these limitations we hope that the 1945 X-RAY will meet with your approval in its attempt to provide a satisfactory record of the 1944-45 school year. Sincerely, The X-RAY Staff. I A ll
