The '49 Yearbook especially compliments these six genuine X-men, because it knows the sacrifice of time 'and energy that was theirs. Lionel, has organized a most successful Dramatic Club this year. Submerged the first presentation of the club was enthusiastically received by its audiences. The second production, Papa, Behavef' proved lo be equally delightful and entertaining. In the current school year St. X. revived its Dramatic Club under the direction of Brother Lionel and Brother Callisfus with the successful production of 'Papa, Behave at the Nazareth College Auditorium, Sunday, January 30, I949, the cast comprising as pictured: seated left to right: Paul Johnson, Richard Flanigan, Syl Schulte lPresidenfl, Ray Delclrum and Harry Kirwan. Standing left to right: Robert Krauser, Robert Gering, John O'Callaghan, Willis Ewing, George Mahan, James lngram, Thomas Casper, David Cherenalr, Fred Kalphelre, James Green, and Clifford Roberts. Were it not tor the many extra-curricular activi- ties school would definitely become a boring place. St. X., not to be surpassed in any field, offers her students a variety of social activities and clubs. Such clubs as the Math. and RA., have contributed much foward making our school tops in scholastic standing. One club in particular which, although it attracts few sludenls, gives 'rhem invaluable training and experience is our new Speech Club. Under the watchful eye of Bro. Adalbert. poise, ease, and sell- expression are imparted lo the future leaders of society. Sl. X. may be iuslly proud of the Speech Club and of the industrious, cooperative students who have made it whar it is. The Speech Club has as its obiective the development of the speaking and reasoning powers of the members. lt attempts to develop the whole man, and gives him the ability to organize and to defend his convictions without which ability education is wasted.
