message be My Dear Graduates: K Congratulations and best wishes on the occasion of your graduation from St. Xavier High School. After your graduation, you will turn your thoughts toward new and broader fields of endeavor. Many of you will further your studies at colleges or universi- ties to prepare for the priesthood or brotherhood, others will prepare for the various professions or fields of business administration, while others will strive to perfect themselves in the industrial arts. Whatever be your vocation, let your Catholic Faith animate your life. Strive to be an intellectual Catholic-one who really knows his Faith, who loves it, who lives it daily, one who loves to tell others what a glorious thing it is to be a Catholic. In these days of turmoil and strife among nations and peoples, we have also the astounding evils of wrong thinking and false teaching in our institutions of higher learning with the result that men and women, and particularly the youth of the nation, are being misdirected about the very essentials of life and religion. The outlook of such upon life is vague and oftentimes morose, because they have been misguided by leaders and teachers, who should have inspired them with better, more beautiful, and with more noble things of life. The graduates from a Catholic high school should have no fears of present day evils, and they will not so long as Catholic principles are their guides in all that pertains to faith and morals. My dear graduates, go into the world determined to be an intellectual and militant Catholic-the kind of Catholic that your Church, country, parents, school and teachers will be proud of and refer to us as an ideal American Catholic Citizen. Yours devotedly always, BROTHER ADALBERT, C.F.X. Director of Studies
