To whom shall we dedicate this book of precious mem- ories? lf the answer to all questions were as simple as the response to this one, we should certainly all get very high marks in our examinations. Surely, it is most appropriate that we dedicate this, the fifteenth volume of our annual, The Froslin, to none other than our Principal and friend, Father Kirsch. Reverend Father Kirsch came to Fostoria as pastor of St. Wendelin parish on Iuly 1, 1942. It was on February 3. 1943, that Father Kirsch assumed the additional heavy tasks of principalship of the high school. Although a multiplicity of duties engage Father Kirsch's presence and attention elsewhere during a por- tion of each day, the spirit of his magic presence and influence resides with the high school always, where he graciously directs everything to the very best advantage of each individual. With deep appreciation, therefore, it is to our Reverend Pastor and Principal that we, the senior class of St. Wen- delin High School, dedicate this, the 1943 Froslin. Page Five

The tremendous importance of religious training has become more apparent in the past several years. Those nations which have prohibited such training, or in any way obstructed the free performance of man's God-given duties, find themselves miser- ably enslaved by the vices of hatred, greed, and other selfish ambitions. That godless, materialistic philosophy has now en- gulfed the world in a ruthless, savage and bloody conflict. To acquire a knowledge of God is one thing: to absorb that knowledge and regulate your daily lives according to the will of God is quite another thing. St. Wendelin High School is a pow- erful influence in the building of solid, God-fearing characters. Your gratitude to God for permitting you to live in our beloved United States of America, which has preserved, and is making every sacrifice today to preserve, along with your other unalien- able rights. the right to serve your God, should never cease. In this glorious nation, St. Wendelin High School has offered you every opportunity, not only to acquire a knowledge of the prin- ciples of temporal and eternal peace, but likewise to practice these principles. Yours has been the august privilege of an intimate association with the Prince of Peace at Daily Mass and Holy Communion in your high school chapel. Your teach- ers and your fellow students, by word and example, have assist- ed you in acquiring the habit of walking firmly and confidently in the footsteps of the Prince of Peace. These Christian habits supported. not by guesswork and confusion of mind, but by positive, divine truths and clearly settled notions of the principles of right and peaceful living, will be the source of your future peace and success. P May this yearbook serve as a constant reminder of the greatest of all your unalienable rights, the right to such a training in youth as has equipped you with the knowledge and virtues necessary for a peaceful sojourn in this world and above all, for a blessed union with the Prince of Peace for all eternity.
