We fqae Hardly realizing that our four years as students of St. Wendelin High School are now rapdily drawing to a close, we, although filled with that ex- travagant youthful anticipation of entering into a new kind of life, hesitate on its threshold, reluctant to leave those hallowed walls which have housed our ambitions, our hopes, and our worries during this brief sojourn. During this momentary pause, four years of learning, four years of train- ing, four years-in which we have either molded. ourselves into practical Cath- olics and dutiful citizens, or have permitted ourselves to drift into the worldly realms of self-expression and independence-pass before our eyes in a vivid panorama of truth. The last but most important of those years we have en- deavored to highlight in this, the fourteenth volume of THE FOSLIN, in a brief summarization of its work and its play, its clubs and its classes, so that, in future years, we, as well as those whose toil and care have given us the opportunity for a fuller life, may have reminiscences of the class of l942. Fully cognizant of the fact that our education, of which our student pub- lications, THE WENDELETTE, and THE FROSLIN, have been a vital part, would have been utterly impossible without the wise guidance of our parents, principal and teachers, coupled with the financial support of our patrons, al- umni, and advertisers, we extend to all of them our vote of thanks and sincere appreciation.
