C' MARCH Entrants of American Legion Essay Contest were submitted. Coach Bache drew Whetstone tor tournament at Bascom. S. W. H. beat Whetstone, 47-37. Attica five trounced Mohawks, 48-31. Senior girls went to Notre Dame, Cleveland, for scholarship exam. Fr. William Burns told the stcry cf his capture and adventures to the stu- dent body. Pictures for Froslin were taken. Quill and Scroll contest was entered. Father Weber celebrated his 87th birthday. Inter-class basketball contest held: seniors beat the juniors, 43-41. Spring arrived. Magazine drive opened. APRIL Ursula and Mildred Finsel placed first and second respectively, in the an- nual spelling contest. Senior boys went to Toledo for De Sales College Scholarship exams. 10, ll. Tenebrae services were held at the church. Easter vacation began. Elk's Essay contest entries were submitted. Rita Binkley and Myron Ziegman received first and second awards of S15 and 510, respectively, in the Elk's Essay contest. Froslin subscription drive closed. Sing a Song of Sixteen ticket campaign opened with a bang. Rita Binkley, Emmet Sheeran, Virginia Lichtle, Harry Stoner, Mildred Finsel. Robert Mahin, Margaret Devore, and Iames Kinn were awarded prizes in the American Legion Essay Contest. MAY The musical comedy, Sing a Song of Sixteen was a great success. Ascension Thursday. Iuniors held gala prom for outward bound seniors. IUNE Senior day of Recollection. Seniors are sophomores' guests at graduation breakfast. Commencement. I Edible S Mmm Emma Throughout the year some ol the functions of the C. S. M. C. were: a bake sale, and the collecting of medicines, and stamps. The average per capita for this year is 51.56 per student. This is a decided increase over the per capita rating of 1939-1940 in which St. Wendelin's was fifth in rank among the schools of the diocese with 51.14 per student.
