The various extra-curricular activities as clubs, hobbies, and projects, help in one way or another to make the Seminarian happier and more enthusiastic during his days here at Cape. These activities help the student discover his interests and thus confront him with more opportunities to develop his talents in different fields. First on the list is a newly initiated hobby, the Radio Club. Though it is small in member- ship there is never a lack of enthusiasm and interest. Its success is due chiefly to its moderator, Mr. P. Leible, who owns a transmitting and reCCiving set valued at over S3ooo. Mr. Xavier Jana, the club's president, provides countless bits of informarirm rg enrich each meeting. Next is the Astronomy Club led by its illstrious president, Jim Schumer. With meteor showers, lunar and solar eclipses, and variable star formations, they are kept busy while being supplied with informative material from the American Meteor Society of which they are a proud member. A long time tradition at St. Vineent's College was continued this year by the Glee Club. The Singing Group, under the guiding inspiration of our faculty member, Mr. Schurz, caroled at St. Francis and Southeast Missouri Hospitals, at various Qgnvents in the area and at several private homes during the Holiday Season. Liturgical music, folk-songs and popular music of the day make up its repertoire. An activity also long established at Cape is the Camera Club. One of its main objectives this year is to promote photography as an art. Wfith valuable new equipment in the dark room and the expert assistance of its moderator, Mr. Quatmann, the club this year has been tremendously successful. The Dramatic Club, famous for its outstanding performances, is traditionally moderated by the Assistant Prefect, Fr. Berkbigler. His help in this field has been invaluable in regard to build- ing scenery. painting, and special effects. Last but not least is the Stamp Club.
