Dear Seniors of Saint Vincent’s Academy, To paraphrase Plato, what is to be honored in a country to¬ morrow should be cultivated there today. The greatest achievement was first a dream! The oak sleeps in the tiny acorn. The bird waits for its freedom in the tiny egg. The highest vision of the soul stirs in a fluttering wing. A young girl’s dreams are the seedlings of a reality—the woman of tomorrow. St. Vincent’s Academy is not so much concerned with a “Great Society” as it is with a “Decent Society”. Since 1869 , it has been engrossed in creating the “Lovely Lady” and the “Valiant Woman”. Today, more than ever, our country desperately needs women who are informed and women who care, who think strongly, attempt fear¬ lessly, and who love God and neighbor deeply and sincerely. There¬ fore, moral and intellectual excellence hold paramount place in the development program at this school. Today, there is no time for a minimum life in an era of maximum demand. A lady has hut to right herself to find the universe right. As she alters her thoughts, words and deeds, people and God will alter their attitude towards her. Seneca summarized all this in these words; “God divided man into men that they might help each other.” Thus, love and harmony are the role of a lady. Thus, may you spread peace wherever you go. Yours in devoted love and prayers,
